Private road "no stopping" enforcement

I received a PCN for being stationery for less than 2 minutes on this road. I never left my vehicle - actually stopped to look at a map. I didn't see the sign (not a valid defence) but wonder - is this enforceable?

Yes and no. Enforceable in theory (all private PCNs are...technically) but not in practice. You'd win in court v PCM.
No paying them and you DO have a defence in not seeing signs that are non-prominent in moving traffic in an entrapment zone.
Respond once in writing (online appeal - but it is a farce) to tell ex-clamper goons PCM to "do one" then await a court claim.
No telling us about £170 debt demands (pretty please...).
No paying.
No panicking.

The parking industry is rotten. It is being regulated by Government and things will improve by 2024, but right now it is cowboy territory. You do not pay scammers. Not even for an easy life.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Shoud I be advised to consider a counter-claim when this comes to court? I don't really care about the money; what I really care about is giving PCM a bloody nose.
How does one go about making a counter claim? Is it simply tagged on to the bottom of the written defence?
No, it's not Heath Parade - my specific case happened on this road about 3 years ago, and they took a while to start the paper trail (Covid, I presume). I took a screenshot of that sign from Google Maps; it was NOT included in the photos they took of my vehicle (I have the results of a SAR and it's shown nowhere) and was NOT in situ at that position when I stopped there at the time. In short, I have absolutely no idea what the signage is/was, and apparently neither do PCM as they refused to share it when I requested it. So there seems to be a reasonably strong defence to this along the grounds in your links.
I was not aware of the relationship between PCM and Gladstones and the IAS. Would you advise that this is mentioned in the defence? While it's absolutely sickening I'm not sure the court would give two figs, would it?
Thank you for your help.

You'd need a very strong reason/case to have any hope of succeeding. Some letter hassle from a PPC gets nowhere near the bar, otherwise there would be up to 10 million (the number of private parking tickets issued p.a.) counterclaims each year. You are correct insofar as tagging at the bottom of a defence, and paying for it at the same time. Forget it.

Can be mentioned, but two figs about sums it up. A written complaint to you local MP, also outlining the incestuous relationships, is a much better option. He/she can influence the law, a District Judge merely applies it.
PCM are beatable, it just takes time and effort, supported by advice and guidance from the forum. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
