Parking Charge Leased Car

  • I appealed this charge by sending an email to the parking company and have yet to hear back although the 28 day deadline for a response is next week.

However today I received a letter from them which was obviously the standard template for the follow up letter demanding money. Nothing was mentioned about the appeal.

They still haven’t provided any of the required documents mentioned in the original letter as this is a leased car.

I will of course get in touch with them again to highlight the lack of response in regards to the appeal and the still missing documents.

Perhaps a naive question but doesn’t this seem odd?! How can they ignore an appeal and continue issuing the sequence of letters asking for payment?

The other thing is the letter today was dated from more than a week ago - I’m not sure it’s of relevance other than if there are deadlines to adhere to further down the line I will be losing days - seems sneaky.

    Any thoughts welcome thanks

You don't need to contact them just because you got the standard reminder within the first month.  Sit & wait.  There is no 28 day deadline for response.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Hey, so unsurprisingly the parking company rejected my appeal although they didn’t provide any of the documents required when the car is leased.

Im going to try an appeal through IAS although doubt it will be successful but worth a shot.

In this appeal is it best to just focus on the missing documentation or do I need more about the car park itself and signage etc?

    Thanks

    Hey everyone,

So more than two years after having my appeal rejected for this PCN I have today received a letter from DCBL saying I now owe £160 (why wait so long to pursue this?!).

This is inevitably going to drag out for months if not longer until (or if) they issue the paperwork to take this to the small claims court.

Any way to force their hand and make that happen more quickly?

Also, have I got this right that I don't need to take any action until it comes to that point?

    Thanks

So long as you haven't  moved since 2023 and failed to update them with any new address, you should be able to wait for a letter before claim and then deal with it as per NEWBIE second post.  If you do move in the next 4 years keep them updated.
