Cynergy Bank

Be warned if you are attempting to open a Cash ISA with Cynergy - I made an online application on Monday the 16th of January and my account is still not opened. Their so called phone customer service is absolutely pathetic and no one is interested in taking ownership. Yes they are top of the tree for interest rate but not much blinking use if you cannot open an account. I do wonder if they have real IT issues that they are just not owning up to so beware.

I opened a cash isa with them a few days ago, was showing on online banking the following morning.
They respond to messaging quite quickly, maybe you could try that.
Maybe the application did not go through properly on 16th, maybe try open another isa.

Thanks for your response, sounds as if you are lucky - I was a previous customer of Cynergy with Cash ISAs until July last year so you would have thought it would have been easy to do necessary verification. As regards messaging I put a complaint in 3 days ago and have heard absolutely nothing so the wait goes on.

I suspect having a previous account may have been the problem.  When I worked in a large insurance company we had to manually merge customer profiles when the same person applied for a 2nd product - even  checking the signature was the same.  Cynergy seems to be still living in the 2010's when you compare their online presence  to their competitors so could imagine they are having the same issues.  I opened with Cynergy (new customer) and had the account open in minutes.

Hopefully you will get it sorted!

I opened a Cash ISA but just before the year ended so emailed them and requested they transfer it to an Easy Access account. Despite other e mails I have heard nothing so now have opened another ISA elsewhere and they can get the  money back. My lesson is dont use Cynergy, they may have higher rates but the cost of the hassle is too high.

I opened an account and was never able to validate it so didn't get an account number to pay in. They said they'd close it if I didn't fund it so I let them go ahead. Chip has been far easier.
