Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very dark and damp start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy..
Dinner last night was spag bol, DH moaned I ignored. Tonight I'm not sure what we'll be having.
Yesterday work was ok, hoping for a similar day today. Work still not great - not enough staff due to holidays and sickness, but today is my last working day this week then on days' off until Monday.
Got done yesterday afternoon what I wanted so that was some progress.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Frosty this morning, I've been out to open the gate for the coal delivery and it was chilly out there!
I woke up at half two with a sore throat, not really been back to sleep but will take paracetemol in a bit and get on with it, have to go in today as it's a teacher's strike day and if we don't go in we don't get paid.
I had my eyebrows done yesterday, feel so much better for having that done, meant to go for a haircut this evening but I'll see how I feel.
The battery for the vacuum is back with Royal Mail as I wasn't in, may have to leave it until Saturday to go and collect it.
That's some injury Topsy, hope your DS makes a good recovery.
Great to see you posting Poppy, glad you're feeling a bit better and you can get out soon.
Slow and steady Ruby, you'll get there.
Hope your hands are ok Nelski, miss you.
Have a good day, take care. XX12 -
Morning folks - thanks for starting us off nmlc.I've woken up very reluctantly as I was enjoying a lovely dream until my bladder became too persistent, now I'm wide awake and can't remember the dream.Yesterday I spent a long time trying to sort out some direct debits as I wanted to move a couple around. One was done on the phone whilst one more seems to be missing, not taken since October so I need to track it down this morning. I also fitted the new bin onto the vacuum, not without some unnecessary difficulty, sometimes I'm just idiotic!Later on I'm taking my friends up to Oban again. I don't need any shopping this week but they'd be stuck if I didn't take them so I'm happy to do it. Meanwhile I've tidied up my coffee table, it looks so much better for it, as my cleaner is coming. Hopefully whilst I'm out.Poppy - that's great news 🎉
Topsy - poor DS, it all sounds awful. I hope that you've got some support at home.Hugs to everyone. Happy Thursday to all.12 -
Morning all. It's looking a bit damp out this morning atm, but the forecast is good.
I'm off to meet up with some girl friends later this morning.
Hope you all have a good Thursday.11 -
Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc x
Well done on finishing the stairs @ScarletRibbons – I agree that the thought is worse than the doing.
Hope you found some bargains at BW @Chrisca50 – that’s not far from me 😊 and yes I DO know about BH!
Well done on the 2lb loss @Izzybee – not surprised as you’re always on the go!
Glad you are improving @RedRuby2, but OMG to the fluid your poor DMum has been carrying around. Hope she’s okay x
I too love to declutter @-taff – currently working my way through books and assorted ornaments following the redecorating. Nothing of huge sentimental value which helps!
How was the film @carolbee? That’s on our list to see once puppy goes home.
Thanks for the update on your DS @topsyturphy – like you say it’s a lot to take in, but it could have been so much worse. Sorry to hear about your uncle too xx
Good to see you posting @poppy811 x
Enjoy your trip out to Oban @Gers x
Enjoy your meet up with friends @iris x
I didn’t post yesterday as was in the office. Morale is really low and rumours of a restructure looming. Not helped by a new appointment of Director of Efficiencies or some such nonsense. My sense is that they are willing to hack staff off to the point they leave, and therefore making their cost cutting exercise easier.
Dinner tonight is another new SW recipe of peanut butter chicken pasta – sounds gross but apparently tastes nice. If I survive it I’ll let you know tomorrow!
Washing has just about finished and will be draped on the airer. WM has starting moving across the floor when on spin mode, so may be looking for a new one soon. Makes such a racket too, so good job it’s in the garage in our ‘utility’ area.
Have a good day all, and hugs to our poorlies and missing x

Morning everyone
I was late getting up today - I feel shattered even though I had a good sleep. I feel like I'm getting a cold on top of my usual problems - not surprising with all the germs floating around at nursery!
Managed to get a huge bag of little ones clothes sorted yesterday - some for charity shop, Next and M and S things for Ebay, some leggings for the spares box at nursery and a few to stay here - the ones which are getting a bit short but would do!
Today I'm planning to give all the mirrors and insides of windows a clean and that will be all before I go to work at lunchtime - they're looking a bit scruffy - little ones fingers and kittens paws!
Right, obviously from the way I'm waffling I have nothing exciting to say!
Poppy - nice to see you and I hope you get out soon.
Have a good day everyone x10 -
Morning folks. I did a long riveting post earlier and it wouldn't post for some reason. So I deleted it in case it posted it 6 times after stabbing the post comment button repeatedly.
The excitement of the day is a vet appointment shortly. The usual allergy flare up so steroid jab needed. I don't like her having all these jabs but it's preferable to the allergy spreading all over. Poor puss cat, I think she knows there is something afoot as she is keeping her distance from me in case she gets grabbed and shoehorned into the carrier. I can see fun and games ahead!
Other than that not a lot planned other than jobs. I made a start decluttering earlier in the week and went through my abundance of scarves, seldom/never worn ones have gone in a charity bag. Then I pruned the bag collection and a lot of those joined them. Next, when I make the effort, I want to get rid of a lot of clothes. I need to be ruthless.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies or recovering. POPPY good to hear you are feeling a bit better. RUBY your poor mum, she must have been so uncomfortable. NELS thinking of you and your poorly hands. TOPSY it doesn't bear thinking about what the outcome might have been. Poor lad must have been in agony. Take care all and be safe xx

Morning everyone,I nearly overslept this morning, half an hour after my usual time when I hear the heating get going- must have needed it!I did quite well tidying yesterday but after DS2 & kids were here it's start all over again
, in the kitchen anyway, which is where we tend to congregate. I need to get my meat pack, but DS is around today and getting his hair cut later this morning. The barbers is on the same main road, as is Morries so maybe I'll get him to drop me there until he's done. My order arrived all p& correct but I have forgotten a couple of things.
RRuby glad you're feeling better,& hope Mum does too now.Topsy, your poor DS with all those breaks- must be so painful, hugsTaff well done on the decluttering. Know what you mean about a skip, I think I'd be more ruthless if I had one at my disposal. Sometimes DH can take a bit to work, but only if its for general waste, not builders.Gers enjoy your drive to Oban. We spent a few holidays with the diving club DH was in when the boys were younger at Campbeltown, and saw on the news last night about the rocket launch pad thingy there after the Cornish Virgin one failed. Brought back happy memories.Poppy, good to see you!Right, better get on if I want to make it & be ready when DS goes out.Take care all, hope the coughs and sneezes get better soon x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all
Not quite as cold here this morning but we have lit the fire to take the chill off.
OH has put a load of washing in this morning so I will hang that on the airer by the fire.
DD has a day off today so she will go and collect the food shop, it’s a click and collect so no real bother.
Dinner tonight will be some Gnocchi with Alfredo sauce and salad and garlic bread.
Mum said she feels so much more comfortable now she lost 18lb in weight after the procedureso it must be easier now, her new bed also arrived yesterday it’s one of those ones where it lifts you up at the head or feet so it should be easier to get up in the mornings.
Topsy your poor son, hopefully he will improve quickly but what a shock for you all xx
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Hi everyone,
Gers, one of the Escape to the Country's this week was set in Argyll and Bute, they showed Oban and Tarbet, you probably will know some of the places they visited.
Coxy, I won't give my opinion on the clowns in charge because it would probably get me banned and offend people on the thread but you have my wholehearted sympathy (as do you NMLC)
dp1, Laura has started selling baby clothes on Vinted, they seem to have the delivery better sorted than ebay because they give you labels to print off and then you just take the package to a collection place.
I'm a bit tired today because a certain little lady screamed until 3am. We think she may be teething even though it's quite early, Laura ended up giving her a dose of calpol and then she finally went to sleep. Then Esben didn't want to get dressed for nursery so that was a bit of a battle. I'm just sitting having a cuppa and then I'll do some sewing, the cleaner is here so all the bathrooms are getting a good going over.
Have a good day.10
