Paying for a new boiler - any grants or loans?

Lower end combi boilers start at £600 and I have seen people quoting £600-700 to fit any boiler but not in London or surrounding area where everything seems to double up. Best bet is one man operation gas-safe engineer via some of the trade sites (where they compete for work listings) though I did find in Swindon that they all knew each other and were running cartel type pricing (so did not bother replacing the boiler).
