Morning all, need to be quick as my T order is due in an hour and I need to clear the worktop, and also wash my hair- it's a right mess after wearing my bobble hat at the footie last night!
Met DB there and DH has invited him and SIL round on Sat. night for a meal, he's doing his signature Greek things, so operation clean up starts again!
I tried not using too much power last night, as per the new power saving initiative- did the washing/drying mid morning & also put the very full dishwasher on. It helped that we were going out though & just had a snack for tea! I think we're pretty frugal with the power anyway so we might not get much reward.Right better go, hope everyone is doing ok x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all
Not quite as cold here today but still nippy, the fire is lit though so all cosy indoors.
I am improving day by day and managing to do a bit more each day although I tend to have a rest in the afternoons.
Mum got on well at the hospital yesterday they removed 8.5 litres of fluid from her tummyso hopefully she will feel more comfortable, she had said she will treat us to fish and chips tonight as a thank you as DD took her back and forth to the hospital three times yesterday due to a mix up with the times, so no cooking and a nice treat tonight.
I have put a wash on which can be hung on the airer by the fire which dries it well.
Have good days all and keep warm and safe xx10 -

Morning all, we have the freezing fog here. Yesterday was lovely in the sun and I got 3 loads of washing, including the bedding on the line. Some of it dried quite well but the thicker stuff went over the airer last night. I have to gather it all up, sort it and put it away today.
I didn't start to sort the office as Mr Fix It needed an electricians mate and gofer, so maybe today I'll get in there, although I had a bad night in and out of the loo every 2 hrs, so maybe not. It's not as if it's going anywhere, mores the pity. I'll have to leave off all the coffee today although I only thought I'd had my usual amount.
Tea tonight will be hunters chicken and hm wedgies, followed by fresh pineapple and ice cream.
RedRuby glad you're improving a little every day. I hope tour Mum feels better, poor lady must have been so uncomfortable.
Happy Burns Night to those who celebrate. Hugs to the poorly ones and anyone struggling.
Take care all

Morning all. Freezy foggy here again but I'm going out today to fetch some spent grains from a microbrewery in town for my compost bin. Also need petrol and have some soft plastic to get rid of so Tesco it is too. The pile to go is getting much bigger now, I went into the RoD and started last night. There is now a bag with fleecy throws and a bag of clothes to add to the mix as well as more books, a bag or rag and a bag of clothes to go to someone else. This decluttering lark is quite good really, every time I do it, I find a bit more to go. Now, I don't know if thats because I can see it's not worth keeping because I won't use it/wear it/read it and am not fooling myself I will, or whether I am no longer emotionally attached to it, or whether I have genuinely got no further use for it. All I know is that in about twenty years time I'll finally have a clutter free house
Nah, just kidding. Two, maximum...If I had a skip outside I reckon more would go too.
Going to do a blanket get well, be careful, rest up, don't go crazy post for everyone because I'm itching to get started again..Except Rubys mother, wow, 17 pints! She must have been so uncomfortable, hope she's much better today...Wrap up, don't be silly, wear hats...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi12 -

Hi everyone,
I lost most of yesterday to another pesky migraine, I used to get them at the start of my period and then when I went through the menopause waved them goodbye with relief but these last few months they seem to have returned with a vengeance.
Steve was in with the eye tech for nearly 2 hours trying different prisms on his glasses and then when he came home he removed one and put the other on the opposite lens upside down! He says it's better though so that's the main thing. He has to go to Addenbrookes in a few weeks to see if they can do anything surgically, he's also got his cancer check next week so it's a very medical start to the year.
He's going with Brian to play golf and I'm going to do a bit of gentle sewing on my latest project. Laura is still in bed with Esther, I think we've both had a bug over the last few days.
Ruby, that's incredible, your poor mum. I hope everyone else is doing as well as possible.
Have a good day.10 -
Good Afternoon
I didn’t get chance to post yesterday as spent 5 hours including travel at Ds2 follow up appointment, which included another search for appropriate wheelchair for 20 mins. Consultant explained that his femur was fractured in 5 places, that they removed all fragments and have placed a steel rod in his leg and there is a gap where his bone needs to grow of about 6 inches. He also broke 3 bones in his knee and may possibly have to go for another op depending if the knee specialists can fix the protruding bit. They told me it was a life changing injury and that he will need to learn to walk again and that it will be a new normal for him. They are pleased that his wounds are healing nicely. It was a lot to take in, but I’m grateful that he was lucky to escape with the injuries he did. We can only look forward and take every day as it comes.I also had sad news that my uncle died, my dm brother.Gers - I will be composing an email to Pals today.Redruby - glad you are improving each day.
Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care.10
