Finishing February with a surplus of 84p!It would have been more but I decided to use the Lidl £5 off voucher to do some stocking up for next month. I bought some frozen fruit - a bag of blackberries, a bag of strawberries and a bag of mixed fruit. These will be great in porridge, overnight oats and my new favourite breakfast of baked oats. I remember @JoeDenise commenting on frozen fruit before and I agree it's such good value. I also bought tinned tomatoes and a couple of tins of corned beef which I haven't seen in Lidl for a while.
I was determined not to go over budget and was hyper vigilant on the shopping trolley. I sent OH to browse the middle aisle whilst I worked through the shopping list.
without the accountability of this thread that 84p (and more) would not be in my purse.
thanks everyone4 -
I also love baked oats @Blackcats and guess what's for breakfast tomorrow! After I've been for my blood test as need to fast so will be getting to the hospital before they open at 8 o'clock - will need to leave home shortly after 7.15am!
Thanks for the reminder - need to get out some frozen fruit to have with them.

I was hoping to hold off spending for the rest of this month, and coming in well under budget for the first time ever!!! But tonight we did need a few basics: no bread in the house, no milk in the house, haven't had cheese for a few days.......Asked DD what she'd like for tea: fajitas .So lots of chicken, seasoning, wraps, guacamole, sour cream bought (no peppers to be had.)
Total spend tonight £26.86.
This is the first time I have ever come in under budget in this challenge !!Total spend for the month £280.40/£300.!!

Hi all, have just caught up whilst having a cup of coffee after a hectic two weeks here. Have just been through online banking and my total so far is £184.68 for the month. Not declaring at the moment as if it’s not raining later will do top up of fresh stuff.5

The last shop of the month arrived today and amazingly I actually got everything I ordered. Admittedly I had my peppers substituted for a smaller, more expensive pack but other than that everything arrived as ordered so I'm quite happy. The sight downside is that it's tipped me only just over budget so I'm declaring at £250.38/£250.
Onwards to March!5 -
Declaring an overspend of £6.95p. I'm quite happy about that as I was well under budget in January. This year I am so focused about how much I spend, not only on groceries but on everything. Hopefully it's working. In Feb2022 I spent £307.25 on groceries but this year it was £206.31 I'm pleased with that.
spent 206.31/199.36

Evening folks. Our final tally came to £364.81 / £330.00 so we were £34.81 over our target. We had some food experimenting with different items this month and stocked up food like fish for the freezer. I'll likely bump our budget to £350.00 for March because the prices on our core items just keep increasing.3

Had to grab some more milk and got some reduced priced berries for the kiddo which cast £11.40 in total. So, declaring for February total:
£116.80/£125
Now to hope March can stay on budget as we've got a lot of pet food expenses coming in. I'm debating splitting off pet food from our food/household budget going forward as one of them is a costly little Madame4
