Good Morning all,
I had a busy day yesterday,SW in the morning, then a funeral in the afternoon ,she was more than an acquaintance but not a close friend if you see what I mean .Does anyone else find it disconcerting when the undertaker recognises and greets you ? He took my DH funeral 20 months ago and his father my DDs 12 years ago
went to a quiz in the evening ,it was quite hard but my team came third !
Off for a Saturday coffee and garden centre wander with friends in a minute ,
Freezing here again, but bright and sunny
take care all10 -
Morning all. We have that horrible freezing fog this morning, plus an overnight frost.
Yesterday's trip down to London was good in parts. We managed to get a place on level 3 (out of 10) in the station car park as there were so many empty spaces. Train was fine, although too full for us to get seats together. But the light show we went to see didn't seem to be happening as planned; only a few static lights and nothing like as good as previous years. Anyway, we had a nice wander and a walk along the canal at Camden before finding something to eat and getting the train back. It wasn't as cold as we thought either.
Today I'm making a lemon drizzle cake to take to DD's and hopefully watching a bit of the rugby before we go. Some washing is just finishing in the machine so will deal with that and then pop out for a paper.
Happy Saturday everyone. WL11 -
Hello all and welcome to the new and old posters. It's very brrrrrr as Mehefin says. I hope this cold snap ends soon. I'm in the walking wounded camp this morning as I fell over the duvet after I stripped the bed. I jarred both shoulders, banged my knee and hurt my fingers, so thank goodness the DIY is done !
The house is looking much more respectable now with all tools put away and the dust wiped up. Scarlet you won't be long with the painting, I find it very therapeutic and I would have swapped papering any day. Thankyou all for asking about Mr Fix It, he is "stable" this time (phew for another 6mths) but they are thinking of changing his medication, so we'll see.
Today we're entertaining the DGS while DD and SIL takes DGD to watch the Strictly show, so he'll stay overnight and eat us out of house and home, no wonder he's almost a foot taller than me already, I think he puts all the food in his legs 🤣
Suffolksue I know ours extremely well as I taught his youngest plus he's the first one to call in a family death, no-one else will do.
Blackandgold shame about the light show.
Gers hope you get you exchange.
Maddie don't worry about what time you post, this thread never closes till midnight 😁
TA I hope it's not the super cold returning, it was awful to go through the first time.
Snoozer put your feet up today and rest, I'm sure Brian will take up the slack.
Izzy enjoy your week off.
taff enjoy doing xmas tonight, without the cooking, can't fault it.
dp1 your hols won't be long in coming, some sun to look forward to.
Iris Hello, nice to meet you.
Anyone seen Camelot, is she on hols ? Hope you are ok. Waves to the MIA's, RedRuby and Nels, NRA etc. Hope I haven't missed anyone out.
Take care all, cwtch up nice and warm.

Ful body bubble wrap needed I think...or elbow and knee pads for definitie...

Morning All
I'm here, thanks for asking, just had a busy morning with housework, washing, shopping and a lovely visit from Gers who will be in Glasgow by now.
Sorry to hear of the accident Topsy, hope he makes a speedy recovery.
Oh no Nanny, hope you're not too badly injured.
Lovely to hear from the new posters, look forward to getting to know you.
Can't remember who had the van accident (Rosy?) but I hope it all gets sorted out soon.
Glad to hear you're feeling better Mehefin and Ruby.
That's a long recovery time dp1, a trip to see the sunshine in Croatia sounds wonderful.
I'm going to collect the little one after lunch and she'll stay here for the night. She's requested a risotto for dinner, will get that on when we come back from swimming. Her Mum and Dad will come for lunch tomorrow (Haggis, neaps & Tatties) and hopefully they will go home shortly after that and I can recover!
We had sleet earlier but it's just raining now and set for the day I think.
Have a good weekend, take care. XX

Morning all. Glorious day here in south east Kent. Loved our very brief trip to Edinburgh and surrounds. Were proper tourists!
Meal planning to run down the freezer in preparation for next summers allotment crop, it’s a very big freezer!
back to making every penny count, was lovely to indulge our grandchildren over the last three weeks, only made possible by following the guidance of this site for the rest of the year.
Have a good day allCarolbee10 -
Afternoon all. Thanks for the welcome. Still fffreezing here in Kent, although apparently it's going to warm up by a few degrees in the next day or 2. I'll believe it when I feel it! Made Nigella's chocolate and peanut butter cake this morning. Looking forward to a slice later. Apart from that having a quiet day today in front of the telly box this afternoon. Burger and chips for dinner later and then settling down to a footie match on TV. Am a big footie fan. Have a good day all and hope the poorly ones are feeling a bit better today xx

taff, Steve plays wordiply so I often try to help him out. I do wordle, quordle, octordle and globle so I'm trying not to get sucked in.
Chrisca that sounds yummy as Esben would say.
I often think about posting later but feel I've missed the boat so maybe if a few of us do it'll become a thing.
I only got up and dressed about half an hour ago, Brian is making dinner, nanny so I am doing a little gentle cutting out while he is at soft play with Esben and Laura and Steve have taken Esther and the dog out.10 -
Snoozer I do wordle every day, sometimes quordle if my brain can take it but not heard of Globle or octordle so I'll look up those ones. Waffle is a good one too! Am just going to have a bit of cake so don't tell Esben lol Good idea about late postings. I will sometimes have time to do one before work but it might be early evening too.
