Outside seems less cold than yesterday was, that's a good start.
Yesterday was a flurry of doing little bitty things coupled with periods of sloth. I didn't go into town as there wasn't anything I needed to buy and the rubbish could wait a bit longer.
An item I'd recently bought from JL turned out to be faulty so I phoned their customer services. The agent immediately offered a return and replacement 😀 so, to make things easier, I'm now going to drive down to Glasgow this morning to do the swap. I've got a couple of other chores to be done down there which I'd been saving up so the journey won't be ridiculous.
Operation Seoul has had a good week, no mindless snacking and no wine, fingers crossed for the same in the coming week.
It was really lovely to see Ruby and Mehefin posting, and a heavily disguised WickedLady too. And more lovelier to have a couple of lurkers popping their head up - welcome to Suffolksue and Chrisca50 and. welcome back to carolbee. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.
Right, need to move myself. Nanny - I hope that MrFixit's review was encouraging.
Taff - you're making me worn out just reading about your days. I had it my head that you wanted to build a house, have I made that up?.
DP1 - it's awful that you're still not 100% well after a whole year. 🥰
Thoughts to our still missing and still poorlies. Happy Saturday to all.
There's a heavy frost here, I thought it was supposed to get a bit milder today.
We went to BnQ yesterday for the paint for the staircase, so that's another step forward for us. Nanny and Mr Fixit have done much better than us, they're now finished.
Not much else was done, made a couple of phone calls, did some housework and finished the book I was reading for the Book Club - there weren't enough books to go round so I'm sharing one with someone else. I'm meeting her on Monday morning to hand it over, we'll have a coffee as well.
Dh washed the car, it was filthy what with rain and snow.
Hello Mehefin, I was glad to see your post, so pleased you're feeling better. Also Ruby, it was good to see your post, I was worried about you.
DP1, we had covid just before you, but we got off lightly I think, we weren't as ill as you by a long way.
I'll join with Gers in welcoming our lurkers, come out of lurkdom and post more often!
Gers, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Taff built a house, she's unstoppable. I'm sure that the other dynamo, Izzy, would lend Taff a hand!
Thinking of our poorly people. Nanny, hope Mr Fixit got a good report. Nels, hope your hands will allow you to post soon.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can today - take care folks and stay safe and warm.
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Safe drive to Glasgow and back. It doesn't feel any warmer here sadly. The blooming snow is still lying frozen out there.
I am feeling a bit sorry for myself this morning. Out of the blue yesterday morning my nose started running like a tap and then the coughing started relentlessly and went on all night. I thought I'd done my share of coughing over Christmas and New Year and now it's back again.. Bah, roll on better weather and hoping we get an end to all the bugs doing the rounds.
Not a lot planned for today so maybe a day of sloth. I had a long phone call with DB last night. He's lurching from one problem to another and, despite numerous scans and biopsies, they are no nearer finding the cause. It's a worry.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies among us. NAN I hope the review call came and wasn't too worrying. Welcome to the newbies yesterday. When I think back to when I first joined the Daily way back when it could go on for pages. Where did everyone disappear to? Take care all and be safe xx

Morning everyone and welcome to Iris and other new posters Still a hard frost here - the ice hasn't melted here since Monday. It's forecast to get milder this week. Going to get some jobs done this morning and then little one will be coming later for a sleepover - no doubt she'll phone as soon as she's ate her lunch and say 'can I just come now, it's after lunch?' I'm planning to book my flights to go to Croatia with eldest DD in July today - the prices keep changing which is annoying so I'd best get them booked. Then I have sunshine to look forward to! I'm also going to Butlins with younger DD and little one at the beginning of May - we got it at a bargain price when they were there in December. Well I'm waffling so I'm going to get on. Hope everyone has a good day today x
We went over to see Chris, Crystal and Nate yesterday. Chris is moving some of his days to have a weekday off and work a weekend day instead. Nate is at the stage where he wants to be on the move but isn't capable yet.
We're watching Andy Murray, boy does he look sore, unsurprisingly, I can't see him winning this one.
Esben is currently going through old toy boxes and rediscovering treasures, the room is starting to look like a toyshop. We will have to set aside a box for some things for Esther now she's getting a bit older.
I have to think about the meals for this weekend, maybe roast pork tomorrow as I have a ys piece in the freezer, not sure about tonight, I might ask Brian to do something, I'm feeling tired today.
Nice to see you Ruby and Mehefin. Hugs to all the poorlies.
Morning everyone scarlet I think they are tricking us on these weather forecast’s it’s freezing with a hard frost I even woke up through the night shivering 🥶 the dogs had a good run I’ve been to Lidl and got some bits I needed washed the kitchen floor and I’m now having a cuppa hubby will take the dog out again a bit later my son is picking me up in a couple of hours he’s out running at the minute then he’s going to look at a new van so I’m tagging along and we are popping in somewhere to have some lunch there treat I will look for something healthy I’ve been good all week. Welcome to all the newbie’s nice to hear from Mehefin and Ruby DP1 that’s a long time to have symptoms I’m lucky I haven’t caught any lurgys I hope I’m not tempting fate saying that well I’m going to have a quick dust and a wiz round with the hoover and that’s my lot for today I’ve got a week off now to catch up with everything apart from my cleaning jobs I will be still going to them and if it warms up as promised I should get a good couple of walks in . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing
Morning all. Not a lot going on today but I am surprised how much lighter it is in the monrings and how much later I'm switching the lights on in the night. We're doing Christmas with friends today, we didn't get round to it in December, everyone was busy. Will have to remember not to book up every weekend this year. Christmas involves a take out of some kind, presents and not very much alcohol since two of use are always driving. Today is KFC so I will bring home half the bones for the foxes, and one of the others will take the other half for hers. No waste....I did a quick look on google yesterday to find some more info on the sewing machine I'm selling. There is a guy in France who is trying to sell one for five hundred quid! And when I looked at ebay, some were selling for thirty quid ish, and some were going for one hundred odd, no rhyme or reason for the wild disparity in prices...So obviously, I took mine off and will put it on ebay for a stupid price tomorrow and see what happens. I do have another one I know is worth about two fifty but I need to fix the electrics first. Doc visit was not awful but the list of ailments just keeps growing, so more tablets, more tests, strict diet [ do I want diabetes? No thank you I don't! - at least that I can do somehthng about.] Had a good chat with the doctor though who told me about her peripatetic youth. We discussed how good Italian food is when it's in Italy, and how it's nice here, but no way as nice...
Nice to see new faces and old faces yesterday. Chrisca, it's a very good anti theft device then Mehefin, very eloquent Gers, not a house, just an extension although I suppose when I'm finished it will look like a new house. Or it had better if it knows whats good for it...Have a nice day out! Scarlet, I reckon Izzy could do a house by herself easy...How many books do you have to read for book club? TA, hot toddies! or a bit of whiskey or brndy in hot honey milk...sorry to hear about your brother, hope they find out what it is soon. Iris, hi snoozer, hope you get better sleep soon. nanny, hope the review went well. More blankets today and cosy books, it's rubbish weather!
Good morning all, I haven't posted here since the Summer. After dear dog died we took advantage of the freedom and had lots of holidays in the caravan. 2 weeks Lancs and Cumbria and later 3 weeks Yorkshire, Teeside and Northumberland, distinct lack of internet on phone or at sites, so I just sort of got out of the habit, although I never miss a day seeing what everyone is up to since we got back home.
Very hard frost here today, so a slow start, hoping it will ease a bit before we go out in the car.
I find it hard to fit in posting in a morning and it does not seem quite in tune posting in the evening, but will do that for a while and hope that it sits right with everyone.
Hugs and spoons to all. MM

The sun is shining here this morning, but it's frosty.
