Ebay to Argos delivery address

How long do Argos hold on to parcels awaiting buyers to pick up?
I have had a buyer ask - why parcel is taking so long?  when I enter tracking details states signed for and delivered on the 9th but buyer did not
contact me until the 18th, buyer has stated that argos do not have the parcel.  
I need to phone customer service at the post office tomorrow and find out what has happened. Is there anything else I need to do?

ps Buyer was never told parcel was at argos at any time.

I would contact the Argos store yourself, just to double check especially as Royal Mail have confirmed delivery.

I stopped posting to Argos click and collect addesses because the Royal Mail delivered to a wrong Argos store. I sent a parcel to one Argos, but it went to one a few miles away instead. 

I contacted Argos and ebay. When the Royal Mail was handed the parcel back they then delivered it to the correct Argos instead of returning to sender.

Seems that is easier said than done - have tried multiple times today with no success.

Will try that again although the buyer said they had been to the argos store who in turn directed buyer to
delivery office who printed out the tracking number stating delivery and a copy of the signature given at the time of delivery.

Anyone know what will happen if buyer raises a INR case ?   This is 4 items in the one parcel.  TIA

Are Argos saying it was never received by them? 

I think the outcome of an INR case would depend on whether its judged that the item was lost in transit on the way to the Argos or whether Argos have lost it. 

Was it properly labelled with the eCP code etc?

If its deemed lost on the way to Argos then Money Back Guarantee applies and you would have to pursue the courier. It's not explicitly stated that I can see, but I presume that means that if it's been received by Argos and they've messed up then Ebay foots the bill?

Yes, the buyer has enquired at Argos, and they are saying they do not have it.

Royal Mail track & trace are saying it was delivered and signed for.  They have a signature on their track & trace website.

I cannot get through to argos - have tried multiple times and will keep trying.   Yes it was properly labelled with the eCP Code, and the parcel also had my postcode/house number on it.
Have called RM and they have said that it has not been returned to them to send back to sender as they would have a note 
of that, (they say it would be scanned by them again, so would know it would be on its way back to me).

I don't think there is much more you can do. If RM are saying it's been delivered then it's something for Argos/Ebay to resolve. Have you contacted Ebay customer services? 

I think the buyer needs to make a claim for non receipt and then you need to submit your proof of delivery and I presume that Ebay/Argos will compensate one of you for a lost item?

Update -  Buyer opened INR case x 4 as there were 4 items in the parcel.  Buyer requested Parcel be sent to an Argos store and had an ecp reference code given to be included in the address.

Parcel was sent Signed for 2nd class and Track and Trace shows delivery date and signature. 
 
E Bay reviewed the case(s)  Results as follows;
1 x Sellers favour - no impact
2 x buyers favour - with the reason given as - "We didn’t receive valid proof of delivery from you. Sellers must provide tracking information showing the item was delivered to the address provided in the order details. Some orders also require signature confirmation. Learn more about our signature confirmation policy."
1 x awaiting decision

I supplied tracking information reference code and date of delivery and signature that was on the Royal Mail Track & Trace site.

Are sellers not covered by a delivery signature and proof of posting reference tracking code anymore?

ps the item they refunded and had no impact on myself was the lowest cost item (just thought I would mention that).
