It's not a bailiff letter (despite their name). As I said before:

Wow, thank you for this. I am already checking the Scottish threads on the advice of someone who sent me here.

I live in England by the way...

Hmmm...a bit different then.  But no bailiffs are coming knocking!

Come back if you get a court claim.

Debt letters (even from DCBL) are not bailiffs.  Impossible at pre-action stage.

The fourth post of the NEWBIES thread bears no repeating & already tells you what to do with such threatograms...!

OK, done TY - is this the kind of thing I should be expecting to see and is it best to ignore or return with a note reminding them of the procedural error they made?

Ignore anything from DCB Limited. Come back in the unlikely event of you receiving correspondence from DCB Legal or direct from ParkingEye.

'Procedural error'?  That won't stop them at all.  Don't waste time chasing that.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I can do that but why must I have an anonymous name?

On a public forum, viewable by anyone, with so much potential for identity theft, anonymity really is essential. If you show personal details, malevolents can easily build up a picture of who you are, where you live, along other bits you will potentially drop into the thread making you more vulnerable than others here to something going askew.

Also, especially in some of the very sensitive cases we are advising on, the PPC and their solicitors are much more likely to be able to marry up the OP's real name with the case they are progressing. At these times it can be crucial that the 'enemy' does not have information that may be beneficial to them.

Please read the pink MSE banner at the top of this thread, they are most concerned about the preservation of anonymity.

    This may help...

Have a read of this item from the Forum's FAQs:

    Can I change my username?

In most circumstances, we don't allow this.

The only reason we will change your username is if it puts your privacy at risk e.g. you've inadvertently registered using your name, email address or something which gives away your identity within your username.

If you fall into this category, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com your current username, the email address you registered with and three alternative usernames in order of preference.
