The leaving site scam is an add on ruse that the PPC's try to extract money, what ever happened on the day they won't have any evidence only threats.
Think about it was anyone taking photos? They would need photos all the occupants getting out of the car with the VRN, also photos of all of the occupants at the moment they crossed the boundary line of the site.
They would need to define that boundary line, and an on site plan, fence or  physical demarcation locator would have to be drawn.
Also they would need to prove that every occupant crossed that line and no one stayed anywhere within the site.
To my knowledge there was only one case like this every tried in court known on here as "The Toothbrush Case" and that was laughed out of court with a warning by the judge.
Follow the advice on here and stop over thinking it.

Think about it... what right does a private parking company have to prevent you or anyone else for that matter for going for a walk and crossing some invisible line? They may as well put into their terms that anyone observed picking their nose is liable to a charge of £100. It's as ridiculous as that.

Unfortunately, there are plenty of gullible victims who poop their pants at the mere thought of anything to do with "court" and end up funding these scammers by paying up.

I've also had this charge form MET at a McD. Said I left the site. I parked in McD parking spaces in a car park adjacent to the McD restaurant , not in their car park. Difficult to know where their site begins and ends. The photos show the car parked in a bay and pics  with a 10 minute gap. However there is no proof of me leaving their site. I went to McD so not sure why they sent a charge. I appealed to MET and they said they are correct in issuing and believe they will win on further appeal to POPLA. I want to carry on with appeal but dont want to waste another £50 (times are hard). What has been experience of others who went to POPLA questioning the 'left the site' reason? Many thanks for help.

The experience us that MET cannot win at POPLA because they have no evidence.  They will offer no contest.
