Leaving Site PCN Mcdonalds - Missed Appeal

Comments

  • It is sad to say that Mcd's are too chicken to admit that the parking companies they employ are only money scammers ... like MET

Serving FAT chicken burgers and junk food can cost you over £100 ?

No doubt McDonalds is a major health problem but a wealth problem as well. NOBODY should park their car at a McDonalds with scammers on site.

If you must eat this type of food, use the Drive-thru

Stupid McDonalds and their stupid reply

You won't get a POPLA code - unless (possibly) you make a complaint to the BPA and there are some grounds for them to investigate something.

Seen POPLA codes given out by PPCs when the BPA sniff around, but you'd have your work cut out to even find a reason to make the BPA old boys' club take an interest.

Well another day another DRP letter. This one stating this is the pre legal letter. I think i need to know what my options are now realistically because i have a horrible feeling the next letter will be solicitor’s letter and that this will definitely be going to court. It is a game of chicken at the moment.
Even if i did find a way to just pay the £100 just to make this go away, are DRP still going to chase up the full £170 which is partly made up of their fees?

As per posts below, I had no idea you could be fined for something so ridiculous
Again occupants is such a broad term, if a passenger runs across the road and run back just for fun is that honestly good grounds to issue a 'fine'!?

You need to get your head around the fact that it is not and never was a "FINE". That is why I jokingly said I should start my own PPC and issue "INVOICES". You have not broken any law. You are in a dispute with a PPC over an INVOICE  that they claim you have not paid them after they allege that you breached their Ts & Cs at the car park.

They MAY decide to sue you in the small claims court for the alleged debt you owe them. If they do issue a court claim, you carefully follow the advice given here by the regulars who know their stuff and you put in the necessary work and research on this forum, you have very, very good chance of winning this and not paying a penny.

However, do not expect the people on here to do it all for you. Far too many people come on here and expect to be spoon-fed and mollycoddled through the process. It will cost you time and effort but if you follow the advice it shouldn't cost you any money, which as you stated, is very tight at the moment.

So, get your mind in the right gear, remembering that you have not broken any law and you have never been FINED by these scammers. You are going to challenge their claim, if it ever gets that far, in the small claims court. It is not a criminal matter (as far as your part in it is concerned although many here would suggest that the PPCs and their scam lawyers are sailing very close to the wind in this regard, at times) and only a dispute over an alleged debt.

That's just another day and another letter that the idiots at DRP have wasted their time.

You no doubt know about the new code of practice that the parking scammers are trying to block.  You know government want to ban these idiot debt collectors ?

This is how stupid this wild bunch are, every day they prove without doubt that they are not fit for purpose ... what a bunch of nutters
No doubt government has also noted that the BPA approve these money scammers like DRP and ZZPS plus the odd quirky bonzo looking for a quick buck

DRP come from the sewers and despite their rubbish can do nothing

If you get a court claim from the PPC, it will normally come via one of the few legals who just love money scammers
Don't worry, this forum has a very high record of either having them spanked in court or they chicken out, just like DCBL do

Im just lying low now until the next letter which im sure will come sooner or later. Just out of interest can the fake legal teams add additional charges to the £170 if they feel like it? As the case can stay open for 6 years, can they just pop back up out of nowhere years down the line with additional charges ontop of this because they just feel like it? Sorry the current silence is making me slightly anxious with what happens next.

    No.  It can't go up.

It will hang around at £170 with occasional threatograms from various debt collectors and so-called "legal" firms, coming back to bother you like a bad smell.

It can't go higher except if they file a claim, for which they can add £35 (filing fee) and a capped £50 max legal fees.  Small claims are called 'small' for a reason; layers of costs are simply not allowed.

And we win defended cases.  No costs, no risk, no CCJ - as long as you don't go moving house and failing to tell the PPC & their agents (the only time to engage with them at pre-action phase).
    .
BUT by that time, we all hope the Government will have finally broken cover and published their (anticipated soon) final Public Consultation and draft Impact Assessment which we hope will cement their 2022 published intention under the new regulatory regime and incoming statutory Code of Practice, to ban the false +£70 to protect consumers from the current bulk litigation focussed "extortionate" model.

If it signals the way we want it to go, then these old cases demanding £170 will be on a very sticky wicket indeed, with the added 'fee' exposed as "extorting money from motorists".

MET parking has already been rubbished on TV with the "driver left site" wheeze..  Just go to Youtube and type in

Joe Lycett challenges MET Parking's tickets

This is a MEGA scam that MET operate at Stansted airport with McDonalds and Starbucks.  AND ...... McDonalds and Starbucks know all about the scam ... how's that for customer service ???

Most people would never know if they cross the invisible border unless there are big signs saying "YOU ARE NOW LEAVING THE SITE" or there is an electrified fence

That's how stupid MET are in their game of collecting money
Just another money scammer adored by the BPA
