Smart meter, how to get internal display
I have two smart meters, one for electricity and one for gas. The electric one has sent readings automatically, the gas hasn't - I guess that's a question for a different time.
I wondered though, if and how I can get an internal display? My understanding is one of the benefits of a smart meter is that you can track your usage. However the meters are outside. My supplier is EON, I can't remember who makes the meter, it says on the outside it is leased from somewhere.
Thanks,

Hi,do you mean on the IHD, if so should give you option to switch from electric to gas on the screen,0

Yes, I don't have an IHD. To see what I've used I have to go outside and look at the meters!

Hi,if you have online account, log on should give details, though might be a couple of days behind.0

I just called EON. They said the smart meters are not compatible with an IHD. I thought that was one of the benefits they've been banging on about with smart meters. Turns out my meters are not so smart afterall.

My meter is a Landis Gyr+ G370. Sounds like this is a first generation meter? Am I right in thinking any hope of an internal display or app is hopeless?

Generally an IHD (In Home Display) was provided when the smart meter was first installed and AFAIK there is no provision made to replace if you lose it damage it, or chuck it away.
Likewise the supplier was only obliged to replace or repair the IHD if it became faulty within the first year after it was installed.
First generation meters (SMETS1) were also provided with IHD's and my ELSTER 300P meter (installed in May 2017) still happily talks to its IHD, my supplier (EoN-Next) and the BRIGHT app.
However that said, SMETS1 meters need to be enrolled onto the DCC by your supplier and not all meters can be and there are still quite a few which haven't been enrolledNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers1 -
Thanks, I just installed the Loop app (sounds similar to the Bright app). It's connected to my meter successfully, just waiting to see if any data appears

I was going to offer you this to check if the meter had been enrolled - https://smartmetercheck.citizensadvice.org.uk/Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0

The tool says it can't find my electric meter, and the gas meter is not in smart mode. What a load of junk!UPDATE: Figures have appeared in the Loop app for electricity, but not for gas0
