Thanks L, it wasn't my day re the exams but given that the whole class has failed so far I'm feeling ok about it. Next lot start in January so I need to clear my mind and start fresh in the new year.

I've finally managed to sign up to Prolific so have been hitting the surveys hard this week and received over £12 so far. Each time it clears that goes to the smallest CC, I might even pay it off by the end of December

  • I've been paid early this month, just need to remember that it's to last the 453 days in January. Have a load of vouchers to use for various supermarkets so food shopping this month should be fairly cheap.

I've also managed to pay off CC6 so the £33 I was paying to that can go towards the next lowest CC balance, which is a little over £1100.

So far I've made £50 from surveys, and with my expenses from work due of over £230 that'll help with January being such a long month.

  • Happy New Year and all that! First day back at work today so took the opportunity to get the dog out early - that was a shock to the system for us both! I came home and logged on, he's gone for a big snooze on the couch all morning.

Pet insurance renewal came in, last year I paid £280, this year it's £413 so I've cancelled and switched to another provider. Luckily I can move because he has no pre-existing conditions or claims.

It's made me think how much my car/home insurance is likely to increase by in March.

And on the house that Jack built front, the next thing on the list will be new French doors for the kitchen, then a new boiler but I'm hoping it can limp along til summer then I'll replace it then. I'll be budgeting £2.5k for the boiler, and £1800 for the new doors. When did being a grown up become so dull!
