  • I also live in a house that jack built  :(

It will be perfect one day, just not today.

    Following to cheer you on!
It's hard work isn't it?! I'm currently without a big oven because it broke and I'm not spending the money replacing it as it's integrated and even second hand it's expensive!
    Yes it is!

I just spent the last hour scrubbing all my doors and skirting boards in the living room and hallway because I'm getting these 2 rooms painted when I am away on holiday next week - my god they are a mess!

I've now added the replacement of all the woodwork in the house to my wish list in my head!
The new lawnmower broke and I took a refund over a replacement. I then had to pay someone £40 to cut the grass but it's done now for the winter and hopefully I'll pick up a new lawnmower in the sales

  • Yeah just keep an eye out and you'll get one cheap enough.

  • Lost another of my small furry animals at the weekend. Spent a few days trying to get fluids etc in him but having had small furries for decades I think you just know when they're not going to improve. So we spent the afternoon snuggled in with the dog until the time came for him to cross the rainbow bridge.

It's meant the weekly fresh food bill has dropped as I've recently gone from 3 to 1, so I should only be a fiver a week now for veggies for the remaining furry, down from £30

  • Aw I'm sorry for your loss.

  • Last of the small furries has popcorned over the rainbow bridge so have decided to get rid of their setup and not get any more.
I've loved having them over the years but I think I need to concentrate on what I have rather than replacing if that makes sense.

The MSE thing would be to list it on FB marketplace and get some money back, but realistically I think I'll just post it on the community page for free. Morally I'm not sure I want to give it to someone just before Christmas if the poor animals might end up in a shelter in a couple of months but I'll have a think about it.

I've spent the weekend de cluttering the spare room and have some fabulous winter coats to go on V*nted. I just wish I could get them to zip up over my rather mahoosive bottom. Alas, I'm not likely to lose the lbs needed to make them fit so they'll hopefully sell quickly.

  • Hi, sorry for your loss. Could you donate the kit to a rescue?

  • Hi, sorry for your loss. Could you donate the kit to a rescue?
I spoke to a localish rescue and they'll take the food etc but not the bedding or the actual cage so I'd still be in the position of trying to get rid. I'll list it on FB tonight and see if there's any interest.

I don't know if I'm just old and cynical but it seems that lots of rescue places/charities etc are very fussy about what they'll take now

  • Made £111 on V*nted and had a battle with someone who, despite proof of delivery, claimed non receipt. Got it sorted and they closed the claim.

Haven't been in the mood to dig out the Christmas tree yet, but I really must get into the spirit soon. I have some exams to sit so my mind is too busy worrying about them
