Sold more shoes on V*nted so that's another £30 that'll be marked for debt repayments once it comes in.

My poor pup got a bit chunky so has been on a diet of late. Took him to get weighed and he's lost over 4kg in the last few months. It's a pity I'm not as disciplined with my own weight loss as I am with his. But he's getting compliments at the dog park which is cute and looks much happier. It also means his food is lasting a lot longer when it's weighed rather than just guessing

  • Hi wildheart, I have been reading these forums for a while but felt like I wanted to join today after reading your diary. I have a similar level of debt to you, so I will be reading & getting tips from you as much as I can so I can hopefully clear the debt as well as you have been doing.

You've inspired me to finally list all the things on Vinted that I have had piled up in the corner of my bedroom for months! It's been one of those tasks I keep putting off, but I've made it my mission for this afternoon :)

Hi Debtbuster2023 and welcome! Vinted is an excellent way to clear out and make some money but be prepared for the very low offers. I  decline and don't bother making a counter offer. You can always reduce your prices if things don't sell quickly, and you've no fees or postage to pay out either.

With V*nted sales and moving some money around, I've sent £1179 to debt repayments. I've paid off 2 cards and got my overall balance down to £35.7k. If I can keep going at this rate my Debt Free Date is looking like Jan 2026

Thanks Spinayarn, sometimes it's just so good to hear that!

Another V*nted sale means £40 made. It makes me feel a bit sick to know that I've spent so much money on things that I'm now selling for a fraction of their value but needs must. Santander will be the next card to be paid off - £1036 is remaining so the £40 will go to that and it brings it down a wee bit.

Work is slowly picking up, I know I shouldn't complain about being quiet but it makes for such a long day. And the temptation to just eat is ridiculous. When I'm at home I can tidy up etc but in the office is so much harder!

That's amazing, well done! I have so much to list & can't wait to see money coming in. I have already put some things on ebay, so Vinted is my next step :)

I gave up with ebay, the fees and confusion over postage meant that for low value items it wasn't worth my while listing them.
Vinted has worked so well that as well as making extra money it's also helping to make space and clear clutter in the house.

I've not done too badly on ebay in the past. I don't bother selling clothes on there, but I have a lot of unused makeup, toiletries etc because I used to subscribe to a few monthly beauty boxes & some of the items from those do quite well on there. Some of the listings I put on ended yesterday & I've worked out after postage I should gain around £50. I am definitely going to try Vinted for my clothes & shoes though, plus I have daughters so lots of clothes they don't wear anymore can go on there as well :)

I've sold another couple of bits so another £48 heading to the CC once it clears. I'd love to say I'm running out of things to list but I keep finding more. I just need to keep listing a couple of items every few days.

My energy fix runs out next month so I'll need to update the budget once I know the new direct debit
