hi. i know within the app you can "de-register" the account from the phone. you can then use the same phone to login to another Halifax account or re-login to the removed one. but...what if your phone is still loaded with credentials you no longer have access to? you can't add a new login, can you delete those credentials any other way?

I didn't know a Halifax account is linked to a phone. Do you mean you used to have the Halifax app installed but removed the icon (as opposed to deleting the app)?0

once you use the App it is assigned to that particular login. you can de-register that login from the phone whilst logged in on the App. but if for some reason you can't access the account on the App you can't simply delete the App, re install and then use a new login - thats what i am trying to work out. how to assign a new login to a phone that was previously used on another login but wasn't de-registered.
edit: i'm not saying you can't login to the same account on another phone, but you can't login to two on the same phone. or can you?0 -
Strange that I have Halifax with access from my mac and iPhone
Plus I have the app on both with access
All link together Face ID fingerprint ID so simple0 -

Why do you "no longer have access"?0 -
I think the app uses the stored account to try and login to, rather than the bank registering the device.
Uninstalling and reinstalling (as alluded to by @Band7) or removing stored data for the app (assuming you know how. Apple of Android?) should reset the account details in the app.

No, you can't log into more than one Halifax account/profile on the same device. I don't think other banks don't allow this, either.
I suppose whoever was the account holder of the Halifax app used originally would have to contact Halifax to have the registration removed. If this isn't possible, the only other option I can think of is a hard reset to manufacturing defaults. If this extreme option is undesirable, can you use online banking?1 -
It is possible to have 2 logins to banks/apps on Android with a work profile (or Shelter app), or parallel apps utilities but both can be a bit techie.
I use these for a few apps, and for TSB banking temporarily, when I had multiple logins following a new account application.0 -
