TalkTalk are STILL offering vulnerable customers a "NO PRICE CHANGE"
This is UNTRUE according to TalkTalk
Where did this information come from in the first place ?
And why is this article still claiming otherwise ?

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

I just signed up to a new 18 month contract with talktalk and objected to the increase in April as not being fair as my new contract is a home move on February 4th.
I have been told to ring in nearer the date and complain0 -
Price rises for ALL coming next April of at least 12%

Talktalk and other broadband purveyors price increases in middle of contract.Dear Colleagues,There is a little known law, called the Unfair Contract Terms Act. which was passed in 1977. It was aimed at protecting ordinary folks who are at a disadvantage compared to large companies when it comes to signing a contract. The Act made it unlawful to take advantage of ordinary folks by leaving them no alternative but to sign a contract.I brought this to the notice of OFCOM but got a stupid reply that price increases wasn't within their jurisdiction so they disallowed my complaint. If enough folks complain, then I reckon that they will be forced to do something about it, Or if enough of you guys on this forum bring it to the attention of the MSE himself, his organisation might be able to do something about it. Also, if you are a member of the Consumers Association, bring it to their attention, and also the various television and radio and other msm organisations or even our wonderful Conservative Government who are so very interesting in levelling us all up and who have people interested in these things.Just a few thoughts...and thanks in advance to anyone who takes the problem up and good luck with it!!!ATBDuggzdebuggzP.S. The legislation can be found at the following url:P.P.S. I have been around for at least 6 years, but I am not allowed to post links because I haven't been around long enough!!!

Clear as mud
Maybe someone will explain ?0 -
I believe that act was effectively (if not legally) replaced in 2015 - see Part 2 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015."a term is unfair if, "contrary to the requirement of good faith, it causes a significant imbalance in the parties’ rights and obligations under the contract to the detriment of the consumer." However, terms that express the main subject matter of the contract are not subject to this fairness test, provided that such terms are both transparent and prominent in the contract."Considering it says "CPI+3.9%" on the text on the bottom of the adverts and the website and the emails and when you sign up and whatever else, not sure how much more prominent it can be.0
