Had a WCA for UC

Had my WCA today and my assessor has said she will be advising uc to put me into the support group. Now does this mean I will receive lcwra? I’m really confused because I know the ESA support group means no work related activity. Is this the same for UC? Thank you I really appreciate any replies

The assessor should not have told you this because it's not their job to do so. Only a decision maker can make the final decision. Before this happens the assessor will write the report and return it to DWP. A decision maker will then look at that and everything else you sent in to support your claim and then make a decision. This can take anything up to about 12 weeks.LCWRA is part of UC and is equivelant to ESA Support Group. If found to have LCWRA you will not need to attend any further appointments or send in anymore fit notes. You will receive extra money from the 4th month after you reported your health condition. Providing you're not claiming UC with a partner that already receives the LCWRA element on your claim.1

I understand she should not have said anything about this but I think she felt for me as I suffer with mental health. I uploaded my first fit note on the 29th of July last year. Do you know how much if any back pay I would be awarded? Thank you0

July was the first month I too reported my condition. My assessment period is from 18th-24th.0

An assessment period lasts for 30 days so that can't be the dates of yours. Depending on the dates of your AP then it would be either Nov or Dec for your first payment. What date do you usually receive your money each month?

Assessment periods last for a month not a weekKihazo said:July was the first month I too reported my condition. My assessment period is from 18th-24th.
So if your start date was 18th July will end on 17th August and likewise every month, so some will have 30 days, others 31 days or even 28 days or 29 days on the period then ends on the 17th March.
Let's Be Careful Out There0 -
Which your payment period is 18th to 17th of each month. If you reported your health condition on 29th July, the three month waiting period takes you to 29th October. LCWRA would be payable for the next period 18th November to December payable on 24th December.Kihazo said: Sorry I get paid on the 24th of each month. Thank you for clarifying. Would I be right in saying I’m owed two months of backdated money then? Or would it just be one?calcotti said:

As it's now at the end of this months assessment period then it will be 2 months so far.

Not sure where the 29th came from?calcotti said:

@Kihazo can you confirm whether you reported your health condition at the time you started your claim, or was it a little later after you'd already started your claim?
If you reported it at the very start then the LCWRA would be payable from the November payment. If it was a little later (even the next day) then LCWRA will be payable from December payment.
How many months of backpay that will be will depend on when the decision is made.
You may also want to make sure you have copies of your existing UC statements because if the decision is made to award you LCWRA, they will be recalculated and overwritten.1
