ISA contributions timelines

Hey, does anyone know if ISA contributions stop being treated as ISA balances after a period of time? Wether since deposit or since engagement… I expect the answer to be no but no clue if there’s confirmation in the market! Referring to investment stocks and shares ISAs rather than generic cash saving isas.
Thanks a bunch

...or Mr Hunt decides to strip them of their tax free status. With three quarters of a trillion pounds saved in ISAs that's a lot of forgiven tax on the interest earned.
