Switch off all the appliances and unplug the sofa extension lead

And it’s gone again. :( back to square 1.

At least it's going fairly regularly. When our fridge started playing up, it only did it once every few months. Didn't track the fault down until it became permanent!
You're at least on square two now. :)

It’s gone again with everything in the lounge unplugged.

    Really back to square 1

OK. Square 1. But at least you've eliminated the lounge, so 1 1/2?

Oddly enough, this happened to me last week, I thought it was a kettle so I bought a new one - oops - seems it's an extension plug-board.
Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!

Eliminated that one. Washing machine and tumble dryer are on a different circuit. Car charger is on its own circuit.

Would a qualified electrician have a short cut/ tools to identify the problem. We have home emergency cover with our bank.

If it is an intermittent fault, it is not going to be easy to track down.

I know. :( it was getting more frequent until we switched the lounge off, but now we’ve eliminated the lounge as it went again with everything in there unplugged.
