Currys Warranty Confusion

I hope everyone is well.
I'm a bit confused at Currys warranty stance & hope someone could clear it up.
I bought a Kenwood Fridge Freezer from a reputable Ebay seller (over 1000+ & 98% positive feedback). It was brand new with cosmetic damage. I wasn't bothered about the dents here & there. The seller said he hadn't fully tested so couldn't offer warranty, but being new there was manufacture warranty.
Kenwood fridge freezers are made by currys.
It was delivered just before Xmas & after following all instructive (leaving fluids to settle, waiting for a day for it to cool down, etc.) it wasn't working.
Currys told me to phone the kenwood specific line. I explained the issue & that i had bought it brand new from a 3rd party (not currys). They ran the serial number, confirmed I was first owner, registered the warranty and arranged an engineer call out.
The engineer confirmed last week it was non repairable & i received a PER Exchange code/Uplift code by text today.
I called Currys customer service, as instructed in the SMS, to ask how to use the PER Code, as it didn't work on the website as a discount code.
They basically told me that as i didn't buy the fridge from currys, there is nothing i can do with the code.
My argument is that Currys own Kenwood, and so are responsible for repair/replacement under manufacturer warranty. But they refused to budge from that position.
Am i right that Currys/Kenwood should repair/replace the fridge after the engineer that they sent out, confirmed non-repairable fault, regardless where I bought it? Otherwise what's the point of manufacture warranty?

Dunno. The manufacturer's warranty is whatever it says it is. It is separate from and in addition to your statutory rights.
Your statutory rights are with the retailer you bought it from, not the manufacturer. The retailer can't deny your rights.
Basically your rights are that since the fridge was faulty on arrival the seller must give you a full refund, including delivery costs plus your costs if you have to pay to return it to them.
How did you pay for the fridge? It doesn't affect your rights to return faulty goods but if you paid by credit card you can claim from your card issuer if the retailer is difficult.4 -
Alderbank is 100% correct, contact the retailer you bought the appliance from
Curry's don't own Kenwood but use that brand name under licence on some large home appliances, also Curry's service arm do warranty repairs for Kenwood major appliances bought new from any retail source in the UK
Give the uplift code to your retailer as it authorises them to exchange/refund0 -

As above I can’t see a scenario where Currys are responsible, OP you need to concentrate on the eBay seller as they are your retailer. You have 30 days from the last estimated date of delivery to open a return case for SNAD /faulty, if you are within that time frame you might want to use that as leverage to get the seller to assist with this. Was the seller a business seller as if so their full geographic details will be on their listings, and I would grab a screen shot of that while you can just in case this goes badly. 98% feedback is not particularly good , is there anything in the feedback to suggest they are uncooperative with issues, and are large electrical appliances what they deal in? The contract is between the OP and the Ebay vendor, nothing whatever to do with Currys.

As long that is wasn't in the "for parts or spares" category should be a simple refund via "return this item" and then "Item is defective"

freezer doesn't work
OP contact Kenwood in the hope Kenwood will replace ff with new one.
BUT a replacement ends up via Currys who rightly refuses.
