There are also plenty of insurers that don't car about options as long as they are not third party things which impact on high risk areas (wheel spacers, lowering, engine adjustments etc)

at the end of the day, there is no point getting annoyed about a particular insurer asking questions and pricing higher on certain things because there are always alternative providers you can go to.

Personally, I think it is more likely that the call centre rep was in the wrong in this case as my wife's car was with LV up until last year and rear parking sensors were not asked about with hers.  LV quote to the specific model in the range and not the car in general.  LV did add a reference to remote parking in 2021.

LV's current question on modifications is:
Let us know what changes have been made to your car by answering 'Yes' to this question: "Has your car been changed in any way from the manufacturer's standard specification?". You'll be given a list of changes to choose from, including things like towbars, body work changes and additional security features.

And, this is probably the key one:
    https://www.lv.com/car-insurance/are-factory-fitted-options-classed-as-changes-to-my-car

Are factory fitted options classed as changes to my car?

No, factory fitted options aren't classed as changes to manufacturer's standard specification. A change to manufacturer's standard specification is anything made after the car leaves the factory.

I agree, but otherwise I'm fairly happy with them. They seem to deliver the right result eventually, although sometimes it can be painful getting there.

Except that what the agent said was confirmed in an email from their complaints person when I asked about it.

Maybe go back to them and ask why their website is saying one thing when they are saying something different.

We dont know that it was contradicting the website... that would only be the case if they are saying that the OP has to declare it under the modifications question.

Insurers almost always ask you to confirm how many seats the car has even if you havent changed the number of seats from the specification (though in practice this is done by asking you to confirm the DVLA provided info is correct). You couldnt refuse to answer the Q on the grounds of it not being modified.

    As always, context is crucial
