Changing Supplier

If I change my combined TV/Phone/Broadband supplier will I be forced to change my email address which currently ends @ntlworld.com. If yes, will my new supplier assist me with the change.

It is more than likely you'll lose it. Every time I've changed, they've had set up guides for new email addresses.
However, like many people, I gave up using supplier-tied email addresses years ago and now use gmail which can be accessed anywhere regardless of your supplier. Outlook.com is another popular one. 
This saves losing email addresses and having to tell everyone your new one

Yes you will probably lose it, as NTL was an old cable company that merged with Telewest about 20 years or so ago now to form what is now Virgin Media.  So that email address is very legacy.

Your new provider will probably give you a new email but again if you move away you'll be in the same situation again.

Solution: Set up a third party one, Yahoo/Gmail/Outlook.com and pull your emails in from it while you can, and keep anything you want to keep by dragging them to the new email platform.

I'll be leaving BT in a couple of months and have been switching over to a gmail address for the past 4 months or so.

What sort of  assistance were you seeking to get?
You just send a group bcc email to everyone in your address book with the new address, and then go through all your online accounts manually changing the address. Tedious, but you only have to do it once. 
There's no way to get your new provider to help you with this!
