To be honest, I’ve been so stressed about it all and I’ve never had to deal with any of this before. I just wasn’t sure what to do

I already told you what to do. In my first reply:

So to ignore the letter from BW legal and await from the court? Am I able to put that I clicked the wrong box instead of partial admittance?

I don't think you can now say you don't admit anything if you also offered to pay something

I already said it's too late.  So sorry.

Really bad advice from a lawyer who has no clue that almost every well-defended parking case wins.

And there was no risk in defending; you'd have paid LESS than the claim even if you lost.

Ignoring my earlier comment, the case should go to Allocation where a judge has the choice of making an Order to have you pay everything or having it go forward to a hearing to dispute the amount.

If they award the Claimant everything, you'll be given a chance to challenge the Order. It will also have payment details which themselves can be challenged e.g ask for £10 per month rather than £40 if that is too much for you.

This can all be done by letter / email rather than going there.

Come back when you have the Order.

Ah I see. Do you think it would be an idea to settle with them before court? So I don’t pay anything additional on top?

    Nope.  They won't agree.

But you could reply to BW and reiterate the £60 offer because it looks far more reasonable to show the Judge who does assess the case, that you made every effort to resolve a PCN you knew nothing about.

What "additional stuff on top" are you imagining? There are no solicitors fees or add-ons except the £35 added already for the claim filing fee and £50 capped legal fees.

The claim is inflated already by a false £70.  Such a shame:  there was no risk in defending; you'd have paid LESS than the claim even if you lost.

Thank you.  Well I’m assuming by going to court there will be additional costs on top of this as stated in the BW legal letter. I may speak to them via webchat so I can have a record of the conversation and offer the £60 original charge and see what they say

Wrong.  I wish you'd come here first...as I said already there was no risk in defending; you'd have paid LESS than the claim even if you lost.

"I may speak to them via web-chat."

No. Please listen to us. You do not phone nor web-chat with the likes of BW Legal!
