FVF offers

There has been some concerns raised and posts on various selling forums about the current lack of FVF offers on eBay at the moment for private sellers . Private sellers had got used to twice monthly offers but the last for many sellers was now almost a month ago, so when those BIN items are renewed they will be renewed without any offers .
In the past eBay have gone from regular offers to none at all for months so this isn’t necessarily unusual and shows they shouldn’t be relied on.

It will be interesting to see how many private sellers will pull their items before renewal, although I suspect as private sellers account for a small percentage of the total listings it won’t be noticeable overall.
However, remember we do have a long running thread here on MSE and some of our regulars post upcoming offers well before sellers get any invite, so bookmark this thread for future reference

I had noticed this too. I had 80% off FVF weekends pop up just about every fortnight for most of the second half of last year, but since Christmas... nothing!
The cynic in me thinks that eBay's data may show a lot of occasional sellers might be coming on in the new year regardless to sell unwanted christmas stuff so eBay may think that they don't need to run a promotion in the early months and the loss of a few more seasoned sellers would not offset the 80% hit in fee revenues from the masses who would have sold anyway.
90% of the things I already have listed are BIN with Best Offer and are on auto renewal, I will just let these roll over, but I won't be listing anything new until the next promo comes around so have taken to writing the listings and taking photos but saving them all as drafts for now.• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.

I've pulled my larger value items as and when they are due to renew as I'm not in any particular hurry to sell things (although it would be nice to get rid of them).
I'm going to put some of it on FB and just wait until there are some more eBay offers.1 -
It wouldn’t surprise me if the person whose job it is to sort out the offers is on holiday….You could say after Christmas people have unwanted gifts to sell so eBay doesn’t need offers to drum up listings but it’s far more likely to be incompetence. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0

I've got 20 drafts ready to go, just waiting for the offers. got 80 odd listings too that were listed with the last offer in Dec and won't be getting re-listed until I get an offer

I have some items listed, but now only use eBay for lower value items regardless since eBay cannot be trusted and are happy to screw sellers over.
Even so, I will be ending all my listings this weekend before they auto renew. I'm not giving eBay any more money unless I really have to. Happy to wait until the next FVF offer day. Anything below 80% and I wont list.
EDIT : Just noticed in the other thread the 80% offer is back on for this weekend2 -

I had to cancel my listings as well a week ago. If I remember correctly same happened last year after Christmas/New Year it was a lack of FVF offers for a few weeks but then they started kicking in again every 2 weeks.

Got my 80% off FVF today so it's back to listing everything I own every 2 weeks haha
