Suggestions for standalone PORTABLE Music player for Spotify etc

I realise I could easily get a power bank but then that’s more weight on my beach walk.

If you want to stream spotify then you need a SIM and a data connection using a mobile phone contract (or expensive PAYG data)

The Android based ones would.  The one I mentioned is the cheapest Sony that would do what you want.  The others that would be suitable features wise are a lot more expensive.

To play from Spotify it will need a data connection, so basically it is then a phone.

Why not just get a powerbank so you don't run out of charge?

When I'm on holiday, I just take an old phone out with me and leave my regular phone safely in my room. You wouldn't go to the beach with £1000 in your pocket would you?
