I have received another Witness Statement from BW Legal today, as a reply to my WS. It's already past the deadline for submitting WS though.
Most of the points there are talking nonsense, e.g. they've accused me AGAIN for using template on the internet; they say the ParkingEye v Beavis signage I attached is irrelevant to this case; and I haven't shown evidence for the stationary I bought, the time I spent on researching etc...
My questions regarding this are:
1. Is this WS effective?
2. Can I or do I need to respond? - if yes, when is the deadline for the response should be? My hearing is at the end of this month.
Thanks!!

Coupon-mad said:Their new WS adds nothing but do object to it at the hearing. This WS is too late and attempts to change their story.
Hi @Coupon-mad , given your reply at https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6033440/please-help-please-help-pcn-from-vehicle-control-services-ltd/p60 shall I just object to it at the hearing? i.e. no written response at this stage? Thanks!

Yes because if you join them by sending a late WS you essentially validate late submissions. See what I mean?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

@Coupon-mad BW Legal sent a claimant's Statement of Costs on the 15th August, while hearing is at the end of the month.
It totalled at over a grand...
Why did they suddenly send over this? did they forget to have it in the WS? Did the court request it? or they just feel like adding it now, like 2 weeks before the hearing?
Do I need to react to it?0 -

Your reaction should be an amazing outburst of laughter.
Even if you were to lose, as long as you behave reasonably, you are unlikely to be awarded costs against you.1 -
The more unreasonably bullying (reportedly - see their reviews) roboclaim firms do this, purely to frighten people. It's not 'normal' but we see it occasionally.
Only seen from QDR and BW Legal.
Probs in retaliation to your own costs total...
You should take a copy to show the Judge at the end when you want to show how intimidating and unreasonable they have been to you. When you ask for your own costs, point out their late WS and trumped up costs as well as any other unreasonable aspects of the case.
They can't have those costs in small claims!
They know it. But they don't tell you that they might only get a sniff at extra costs if you did something 'wholly unreasonable' like not turn up for the hearing. Don't do that!
Make sure you attend nice and early (to get through security and to calmly sign in with the court usher) if it's an in-person hearing, and settle down to read your file and the C's drivel.
And refuse to discuss the case in a side room with their rep unless you are up for noting the crap he/she says to frighten you, and then laugh in their face and say 'no thanks. No settlement. We'll discuss the case before the Judge.'PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
