meatandcheese - give me strength!

Ok, now this site was the dogs doodahs and saved me sanity when remortgaging few weeks back - admittedly only still due to complete this Friday but am optimistic.
Meanwhile - back to meat and cheese, I've ordered from them before - probably last Christmas to be honest. meanwhile, some weeks back ordered some bits from their sit for the festive season and my sons birthday.
My money, via World pay was taken very promptly. I've heard nothing since -not a sausage, not a 'its been dispatched' or not a 'awaiting stocks' - absolutely nothing. Oh, yes - I've emailed them, several times. Nothing. This is not a last minute order, this was planned weeks back...............
Ok, so I look at World Pay - they say, take it up with the company ie meantandcheese. I've tried but they don't respond.
Any ideas out there oh you clever ones?

I had a look at their site, it says you should have your order within 3 working days. I copied this from the site for you....
You may also Order by phone 08707 605 270. Our Customer Service phone line is open from 10:00 - 18:00 (GMT) Monday to Friday. Outside of these hours please leave a message and we will call you back.
Try giving them a ring tomorrow, if no joy can you recall the payment as the goods haven't been delivered like you can on ebay? I don't use worldpay so not sure....

Amazing - good fairy, you ring the number, press 2 to track the order and........ you get cut off.
I'll try tomorrow, if get chance, like most people that order online, work all hours God sends and bosses not happy when make personal phone calls, but will try.Genie

I have a cunning plan! Press the option you would use to place an order, if you have to leave a message, then say, you want to make an order and can someone call you back in the evening tomorrow. I bet they'll answer then!
I would just be up front with your boss, say you need to make a call and offer to pay for it, they might let you, hopefully!
Hope so anyway, who needs all that stress the week before Christmas

Well, Good Fairy - and anyone else interested - I phoned meatandcheese.com, didn't matter which option I pressed - got cut off.
They have not answered any of my many emails. Nor and have I received any goods or been advised of any being despatched, i placed order - thats it, no more contact.
Order was placed in november - Worldpay took my money (and state very clearly that its none of their business if you don't get the goods) on the 2nd of December.
No goods - no way to contact meatandcheese - and can't see any way of getting my money back. What a rip off. Can i report these people to anyone? The police maybe? Or will they laugh as my order was under £50 and not considered important.
Don't know what to do. It's not alot of money - well, to me it is and I work bloody hard all week/year/life!

I'm totally not sure what your options are now, is there a legal section on this forum anywhere? I haven't got off the Christmas section yet lol

I'm exhausted due to all sorts of hassle of late - remortgage for one -this site saved my sanity then.
I've given up hope of receiving goods and accept that - but I hate being ripped off! Just don't what to do or how really.........Genie

Did you pay by credit card, if so contact your card company and explain the problem, you should be able to get a refund that way. If not, then I would be contacting your local trading standards office, they should be able to advise you.

I sort of know a guy that works for trading standards - I'm not sure if paid by credit or maestro - how sad am I! Not had any recent statements that would show me either.
Will try and get in touch with trading standards man, and find out how I paid! Can't track order on meatancheese site or view order which doesn't help.
Working flat out full time doesn't help - as you need to speak to people to who seem to work the same hours and I find they take the same lunch hour as me!
Will look at email from World Pay - that may show me - watch this space!Genie

Confirmation of payment from World Pay gave absolutely no information. I've emailed them, but won't hold my breath as no one seems to really care once they've got your money! Boy, do they go on about - not holding any responsibility etc etc.
Do you think they'd stop taking payments for meatandcheese now that I've lodged a complaint?Genie
