On a side note, I stupidly listed an item wrong.
I had 3 tubs of face serum, 15ml and 7ml (free gifts with purchase).
I thought I had created a listing for the 7ml ones but stupidly put the photo of the 15ml one and put 15ml in the listing too.
    Buyer purchased.
I sent the 7ml tubs out.
Buyer complained and said she wanted the 15ml ones.
I apologised and said I had made a mistake and can I give you a part refund.
She said no so I told her to open a case and return for a full refund.
    I sent a postage label.
She returned but she had emptied all the contents and sent empty tubs back.
It's my own fault for sending the wrong item out but how sneaky was she!
She was certainly sneaky, but as it was a free sample then surely it would have been best to just refund rather than making them send it back given you sent them half the amount they were expecting? Having to send something back can be an absolutely nightmare for some people (not at home for courier collection and drop off points difficult to get to) so I'm not surprised she was annoyed.

As for relisting the Clarins items, then I don't think it is worth the risk. The eBay help people generally say what they feel like to get people off the phone. They probably didn't know what Clarins was. Even though you can authenticate the samples, you are not a "permitted" retailer of the brand.
I did offer for her to keep it and I would refund but she was having none of it. Oh well.

I've donated the Clarins cream to the cat charity who can raffle it off as a gift.  I listed it initially and was told I could not list Clarins, Azzaro and a few other companies  - I'm assuming it's part of a conglomerate. If I did list again, I would have to pay £100's per listing or they would take me to court or some such.

Weirdly enough I had a few Eliza Arden and Estee Lauder free gifts which I was able to sell on eBay without any problem. Maybe Clarins is like uber posh and they don't want people advertising it on eBay. Who knows.

I did think about listing it as CLAIRE INS but thought not worth the hassle.

Thanks for all your help folks.

At least the issue seems to be free samples that can't be sold on. Amazon are far worse and simply ban certain makes from being listed unless you are a business seller who is also buying in bulk from the manufacturer.

The only experience I had of VERO was listing some sunglasses which I bought from the Danish retailer Flying Tiger. Some other brand thought I was trying to use their brand name so my listing got removed. They seemed to check my listings afterwards. So listing under a disguise name doesn't seem to work, or didn't for me.
