When my OH knackered his achilles we ended up with a kitchen bar stool (£5 off FB Marketplace) which I tucked under his bum for him to sit at the basin and have a strip wash. We then got a small stool he could sit on in the shower which he was able to get into with the aid of me and his crutches. Fortunately we had some very sturdy chrome grab handles left from the previous owner's occupation on the walls in the shower. They were so useful also when I fell down the stairs last year and was less confident bending down in the shower for a while, that we've put the same type of grab handles in our 2 new shower rooms. There's also one next to the loos which was a help to both of us. We used Keuco handles that are stylish enough in chrome to look like standard fittings in our bathrooms, not disability adaptations. Accidents can happen at any age as we have both found out.
