    Any deal you can keep you number just have it transferred from your old supplier

    Do you just buy the plan first and then swap it?

    When you have another sim ask your old provider for a PAC code then give that to your new provider and you number will be ported over in a couple of hours
  • You can just send a text to your current provider and they must send you the PAC code

    send PAC to 65075

    True, but probably best done during working weekdays and not Friday or weekends, just in case

    Never known a same day port in my experience.
    Usually next working day, if a following wind.
    Once a pac is issued you have 30 days to give it to another provider or it simply lapses.

    Always a good idea to check you have a good reliable signal and everything is working BEFORE you initiate the transfer of your number, and be prepared for a brief interruption to your service. It is helpful to have a dual sim phone so you can receive calls and texts on both networks until the switchover, when your old sim will be deactivated.

    I just booked a number port to 1pmobile over the weekend. They say the switch must happen on a working day with 1 working day notice, so it is scheduled in my case to happen on Tuesday.

    The exact process will vary a little according to the network you are joining but will look like this;
    1 get a pac
    2 give new network the pac, the number you are transferring, and the number for the new sim
    3 wait for the two networks to swap numbers, the new sim number will go to be recycled.

    From ee website;
    If you submit the form before 5.30pm on a working day, we will endeavour to have your number transferred the following working day.
