But how did you pay? Cash, debit card, credit card, bank transfer? Exactly how old is the vehicle? More than 3 years, or less?Debsnewbudget said:

You could speak with the bank. Your not renting a car, so if they won't repair it, push for a replacement or refund.1

They are willing to replace it, or offer a refund.m0bov said:You could speak with the bank. Your not renting a car, so if they won't repair it, push for a replacement or refund.
my original question was about them wanting to deduct £400 from the refund. As posters have already commented, we need to know the mileage done by my son and whether the £400 is proportional to that and then my question can be answered.0 -
Apologies if this has been covered and I've missed it, but is he still within the 30 day short-term right to reject period?Debsnewbudget said:Hi
My son bought a 3 year old car from a Vauxhall dealership at the start of December 2022.
He loved the car, but he took it in this week ...
If he is, isn't he entitled to a full refund? With short term right to reject the trader can't mahe a deduction for use, can they?0 -
Waiting for the OP to come back with dates, as that was my thought as well.Manxman_in_exile said:

Also important that the OP gives the date of his son had first use of the car as that would be when the 30 days start.
Let's Be Careful Out There0 -
Not a chance of anything on a Bank transfer. Just like sending cash.m0bov said:You could speak with the bank. Your not renting a car, so if they won't repair it, push for a replacement or refund.Life in the slow lane1
