Re. Now Broadband, would I be correct in thinking that, unlike some (many?) other providers, they don't have annual price rises written into their contracts, so if they did decide to increase the price, you could move penalty free?
Just trying to weigh up the pros and cons of Now v Vodafone...

I think there's something in there that goes along the lines of "we may increase prices at any time", which is a bit of a worry if you're in contract. What has happened to me (and probably everyone else who is with Now) is that my initial 12 month contract ran out three years ago - but I've kept just paying the same price as I did from the start - it has never changed. So, effectively I'm on a 1 month rolling contract, if the price goes up I just leave penalty free.

I did get offered the chance to go onto a new 12 month contract with them - but it was about £10 a month more.

Strange "company" (or rather: a division of Sky), strange name "Now" - but all good on the "delivering what they say they will" front. So far.

I think that's right. No build in annual increase but a term that they can raise the price and give you the option to leave.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Phoned Plusnet again - even bigger waste of time than before. Again, didn't ask about prices seen elsewhere etc. - clearly not interested. Oh well, off we go to pastures new...  :o
The existing contract ends on the 1st of February - When should I aim to sign up with a new provider, in order to avoid/minimise termination charge (which PN says will apply)?
I'm sure when I change, the new supplier asks what date I want it to start.

I partly went through the sign-up process with Vodafone, to see what was said about call options, installation dates etc,. and they give a list of possible dates for you to choose from - Anyone happen to know what happens with Now Broadband (I'll have a look at their sign-up, to see what crops up...)?

EDIT: According to Now's Contract document, it typically takes 10 days from time of order.

The Vodafone sign-up process also revealed a page about Digital Voice - I assumed that taking over an existing line, on an FTTC package, it would remain as is, so I contacted Vodafone via their online chat, and the CSA said that we would be put on DV - she double checked the information... twice.
TBH, I'm more concerned about reports (here and elsewhere) about people losing their phone number in the switch...?

Anyone know what the situation is with Now Broadband in this respect?

Try sending a text too, it may be a technical issue. Then email rwg and say you have a problem making outgoing calls (and texts?)
See if they say they (or now mobile) have restricted your service. If so they can undo it.

Sent RWG a message through their website and (very quickly!) received a reply which confirmed that the SIM had been restricted, but that they had already reactivated it, so up and running again - calls now work!

(Excellent customer service from RWG, btw)

    Thanks for your help.

Currently paying £25.13 with Plusnet.  Contract ends 4 March. They have been offering me £24.50 for some time which would increase in April . Renewal email came this morning and it is for £21.99 - LR £21.99, BB £0 - for 18 mths. This will increase in April to £25.16 so 3p more than current.
