Sky Mobile Retentions

I’ve had Sky VIP discounted SIM only deals for 3yrs that end next week, I haven’t been under contract with them for 2 of those but the deal was good so was worth staying. We have 4 SIMs and as my daughters are now older they will be taking over theirs and moving to one of the rolling monthly offers elsewhere. I emailed Sky and they offered £1 off each SIM, I replied asking if current 25% VIP discount can be applied if I recontract and they came back with yes and to phone to discuss and arrange. I did and they claim this is only if you take a new number and the best they can offer is 20% off. I didn’t accept and have PACs so was going to leave. Then yesterday afternoon a diamond vip offer appeared on the My Sky app, another 25% off but this time has 2 data plans that would suit. I took a screenshot and emailed saying I’ll go for this and they’ve replied offering a lower data plan for 1 of the SIMs. What is the point of Sky putting offers on the app if no staff will honour them? I got fed up of this with my Q Sports and Cinema negotiations last year so ended up cancelling those (and don’t miss them) I didn’t realise they’d be like this over a couple of SIM only contracts. They’ve annoyed me now anyway, I’ve emailed back asking why I can’t have what’s showing for me but I’m more than happy to leave them next week if I can’t. There are so many good SIM only offers out there that don’t tie you in.

  • I may be missing something here but why not just place the order on the app where the offers are showing?

Because then it puts it through as a new SIM order, it can't be added to an existing. Not as far as I've found anyway.

It doesn't even put it through as a new SIM at the offered rate, only at full price.

Thanks, really tempted to move to them as they use the EE network and have 5G. A 10gb sim for £10 a month would be ok for me. Also as not tied in if I had any issues I could just port to someone else.
