Reading back, The story is such a farce. On one hand you have a money scammer chasing you and on the other hand, another money scammer.. that's ZZPS, CONFIRMING YOU PAID
No wonder this is classed as a sewage living industry2 -

As long as you can prove she paid and it is the same ticket they are chasing, the result can only be a spanking in court for DCBL
A bank statement is perfect, and the confirmation from ZZPS
You can ask the judge for unreasonable behaviour costs
You have a choice, either show your proof to DCBL AND TELL THEM TO CANCEL, If they ignore you then let a judge spank them and claim unreasonable costs.

Be it DCBL discontinue or they are spanked in court, a complaint should be made to the BPA as it seems UKPC record keeping fails
So where does one stand if one instructs a legal entity to defend the claim, paying a flat fee for instance, and then DCBL discontinue? Or is it the case that once a Counterclaim is entered the case must proceed to court?I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a self-satisfied pessimist0 -

Payment arrangements with a legal entity is something between you and them, so ask at the time before instructing. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

If you are going to counterclaim you must do this quickly. A counterclaim keeps the claim live regardless what DCBL do. As ZZPS has confirmed the amount was paid, DCBL will be scuppered
And you never know, a judge may well award you extra unreasonable costs
This is the Gauntlet these legals run.

Final update: DCBL claim discontinued. Counterclaim Court hearing date was set for early May counterclaiming in excess of 900 plus costs. This hearing was then deferred by the court to end of June. My daughter got a bit tired of all the messing about so decided to accept DCBL's out-of-court offer of about £650. This at least covered her costs but meant that DCBL got away without the spanking they so richly deserved. Such is life. Thanks all for following and wise words.I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a self-satisfied pessimist8

Well done all round. Yay, you won s counterclaim! WELL DONE.
ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST!
Could you show how the Defendant pleaded the Counterclaim in a reply here please? They are hard to plead in a way that would be taken seriously, so the D did very well. And we sincerely hope that you are au fait with the need to respond to the final Government Public Consultation this Summer?
Anticipated IN MID JULY because they have said 'before Summer Recess'. i.e. any week now!!
We all need to ram the nail in the coffin of the false £70 'DRA fee' add-on, that actually funds the court claim and toxic CCJ culture, as well as the DRA and roboclaim 'legals' gaslighting of people.
