Hi guys when can I expect the N180 and next steps. Defence was submitted on 6th feb, and I’ve received written acknowledgment of that. Cheers in advance.
The CCBC sent you a letter, or will send you a letter, saying the Claimant has twenty eight days to consider your Defence.
What you don't know is when the CCBC sent a copy of your Defence to the Claimant.
It follows from that that it is not known when the Claimant has to respond to the CCBC.
Further, we don't know what delays there are in the CCBC that means they don't send you a Directions Questionnaire as promptly as you might like.
Can I suggest that you keep checking your MCOL Claim History and as soon as you see that the CCBC has sent a DQ to you, you are ready to download a DQ, complete it and fire it back at the CCBC, remembering to send a copy to the Claimant of course?
  • Hi in the money claim online response history there is only a record of the acknowledgment of service- defence was submitted 6th Feb and I’ve received confirmation it was received. Strange it’s taking so long guys?

Did you use the correct email address to send your defence and (you say you received confirmation) was it from CCBC?  Sometimes the delay at CCBC can be quite long, try another e-mail (without your defence attached) and ask for confirmation of receipt and when it will show on MCOL.

That text I've highlighted in bold is the important bit.

My earlier post told you that the Claimant has a month to consider things.

Even if the CCBC have dropped the ball - happens quite often - you have proof of having done your bit.

    You are worrying unnecessarily.

You could ring the CCBC to chivvy them along.

They know they haven't got a chance of winning this if they're now scrambling to settle for just £15. Personally, I'd refuse their offer and tell them you'll see them in court. I'd hazard a guess that the next thing you hear from them is a notice of discontinuance.

Are you going to settle or make them sweat it out and save yourself the £15 extortion?
