And another thing!  I've just finished cleaning my work surface with a magic sponge given to me by Howdens and it's disgusting how much grease and dirt comes off on it.  Therefore, if not using it, you can imagine the unhygienic condition the work top would be.  I'm going to write a complaint letter to Howdens head office and will post whatever response I get from them.
Why are you complaining about them giving you a product that gets the worktop clean???

How dirty they get is not down to them, but the householder & how they treat the worktop.
That was my reaction.  Where's all that grease and dirt coming from?  The worktop isn't producing it.

Going to write and complain about how dirty your work surface is?

Sometimes you just have to laugh, because it's really the only response possible.

I'm sure your complaint will make them chuckle. Probably tell you just to be cleaner in future.

I'm sure they will have a member of staff that will be able to create a suitable reply in the vein required 🤣

  • The point I thought I'd made is that, subsequent to wiping the work surface with a microfibre cloth soaked in soapy water, there's still a residue of dirt below the surface that needs bringing out with a magic sponge.

But even so that has nothing to do with work surface or manufacture. That is down to how people clean them.

It's not "below the surface", it just wasn't removed by the cloth in soapy water.   Try using a (kitchen) degreaser spray.
