I just use a mobile for the odd text and to call family in emergencies. I don't want a deal or a contract or a bundle. My phone got damaged and I need a new one. Found one on amazz but where do I get a new SIM without frills attached?

If your phone is damaged, why not just carry on using the old sim?

Do an internet search for Classic PAYG and it will show lots of options.  If you really only use your phone for emergencies the difference in rates will not be of significance.

You can take the SIM out of your old damaged phone and put it in the new one. If it's not the right size to fit and it's too old to be able to adapt, your current network can provide a replacement.

That’s the phone not the sim. My old phone quite often said insert Sim, but the SIM was fine it just needed taking out and putting back in again.

I’d try the Sim in a different phone 1st to doublecheck, then if it’s still not working look at alternatives.

It is very unlikely that your sim is damaged while being in the phone. However the sim may not be compatible with a new phone and your network may pressure you into moving onto a new deal.
Worth checking how much you pay and how much credit you have.
Most networks insist you make a call or text every three or six months to keep the sim active, or they recycle your number.

Thanks both,  I will try it again. A bottle of hand sanitiser leaked in my bag and soaked the phone.
