If your phone is damaged, why not just carry on using the old sim?0

It doesnt seem to be working either, phone has lost sound and screen says insert sim.

Do an internet search for Classic PAYG and it will show lots of options. If you really only use your phone for emergencies the difference in rates will not be of significance.1

Will do, thanks.

You can take the SIM out of your old damaged phone and put it in the new one. If it's not the right size to fit and it's too old to be able to adapt, your current network can provide a replacement.Evolution, not revolution0

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
It is very unlikely that your sim is damaged while being in the phone. However the sim may not be compatible with a new phone and your network may pressure you into moving onto a new deal.
Worth checking how much you pay and how much credit you have.
Most networks insist you make a call or text every three or six months to keep the sim active, or they recycle your number.1 -
Thanks both, I will try it again. A bottle of hand sanitiser leaked in my bag and soaked the phone.
