Shell energy delaying a £67 payment until spring for 1000s of customers.

Exactly. The story is just that some customers (whose DD is paid on or near the start of the month) didn't get the first £66/67 reduction and will instead get their 6th payment in April. Typical of the OTT click-bait nonsense that seems to pass for journalism these days. And the sad fact is that some people are taken in by this nonsense.molerat said:So in reality the situation is nothing like the headline suggests, the fact being that a few thousand customers are one month behind with their government credit rather than the headline of not getting their payment until spring.

He said the delay affected “a few thousand customers” and stressed the discount would be applied to direct debits in April.
Ironically allowing for the mild start to the winter, this might even help a lot of people as if the weather stays cooler into the spring that later payment will be helping to pay for higher use in April - rather than the rest us us seeing the payments stop at a time when we still have the heating running...
IMO Mac.d has nailed it - it's clickbait - hence the headline not matching with the article. these sorts of media outlets know full well that a huge swathe of the population will never go past the headline, and so will think there is some form of OUTRAGE occurring. A point that this thread rather seems to have proved...

Has there been this much fuss made of the thousands of customers who haven't had their vouchers through for their prepayment meters, or once they have got them have had problems with retailers not accepting them due to Pay Points commission issues. That seems to have been the far larger issue over the last few months, when it's come to people posting here anyway, and (potentially) is affecting more vulnerable customers, and for more than just one month in some cases I believe?5

Possibly worth reading something before posting misinformation and click bait on the forum?Chrysalis said:Makes sense to me, I dont want to be part of this click baiting so edited the topic title.2 -

It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

Agreed. I was working on the basis that this forum is only a tiny proportion of those who will read the article, and also contains those more savvy than most about such stories around energy companies - and yet still there were some who simply believed the headline!ariarnia said:
