  • I've used "Medical Travel Compared" in the past - this is a comparison site which specialises in travel insurance for pre-existing conditions (as the name implies).

Travel Supermarket also allows you to compare insurance with medical conditions

Thanks for all the responses, after much looking we found a quote using Quidco's travel insurance finder. It appears to be the same one as used by confused.com (I got the same quotes back) but with the bonus of it suggesting i'd get £104 cash back from my £498 policy with goodtogoinsurance.com. So generally happy enough with that. (well as much as you can  be in these circumstances!)

We've used Staysure and Insureandgo.  Whoever you end up considering it is essential that you read the T&C thoroughly before making the decision.  Before the pandemic, one insurer didn't cover cancellation for that, only 4 specific reason such as earthquake, flood etc.  That's just one example of things to look out for.

I have LOTS of chronic illnesses and other health issues and Admiral was cheapest for me which is crazy as they are usually not cheap.

They must be because we chose them as they came out with the best price after declaring our health issues.
