  • Its good you are in a position to support your DG. It will certainly be an investment for you both.

I'm looking forward to getting out into the garden too - its sunny today but still cold up here.

Morning Monday here we go again. Decided to join DG at gym as I am working late Weds so to take some time back. Such a hard class and we are also going boxing tonight.

Did quite a bit of gardening yesterday and ordered the membrane to sort out the little strip by the side of the neighbours boundary on the drive. The weeds a rife and they get into the newly renovated drive and that is no good as it will wreck it. I think we are just going to cover it in stone aggregate to stop the weeds altogether. I have booked a skip run to get rid of the soil but we have only got until 4pm Saturday to get it all up. Hopefully wont be too bad.

Found two winter aconite which made me very happy. I have wanted to grow them in the UK ever since I moved her in 1994 but this is the first success. They like to be hear fences or trees so hopefully found a good spot where they can spread from.

Still not had the Wealthify money it's been two weeks but maybe the MSE influx has slowed them down. Patience or trying to be patient.

Decided the small dehumidifier we bought in Lidl has to go back it does nothing and its in our drying cupboard so should be small enough. I have an electronic receipt from the App but never taken anything back and really want a refund.

Work is really busy but managed to bring together two parties today who will be able to do great things for each other. Very exciting and one is a friend too.

Right best get back to work so much to do.

Had to come on here and do a bit of a brain dump as work is busy and I am just not that motivated.

DG could not sleep so started work at 4.30 and obviously woke me up annoyingly.

Booked the hot air balloon ride I got for Christmas year before last (it was originally a trip to St Andrews).  It is on DGs birthday so should be a nice trip even if it is a workday.

No gym today (nothing on) and tomorrow due to meetings so will practise golf this evening instead which will be nice.

Got £3 credit from OddBox due to 2 rotten fruits which isnt a lot but only a quick message to alert them. Also getting a new light unit that isnt working properly for DG. I bought it on Amazon and they are sending a new one which is really nice no need to return the old one.

Time to sign off now work will just have to wait.

Cant remember if I wrote on here about my mum taking us all on a cruise. That has now become a trip to the UK to visit us and then go down to Cornwall and Devon. Booked the Devon hotel that is a good price but OMG Cornwall is bad. I know we are going in July but you do pay for it and we know the weather down there is not always great.

Had a nice Costa on expenses yesterday and got a lift back so did not have to take the train. Saved me at least 45 min so that is a nice win.

Falling a bit behind on work as so many meetings.

Could really do with some nice weather the rain is starting to get me about down.

Sorry for the moaning just needed to went a little

Some really bad news yesterday my friend in Cornwall who we were all going to visit thought we were talking about May not July so it turns out she is away when we are down there. My mum is really gutted so are everyone else but nothing can be done and moving the Devon hotel dates is not really going to solve anything.

Silverlining is we avoid the steep Cornish prices and can look for something to do around where we live or might even go over to the IOW. So annoying but my friend is a little bit ditzy at times and I have my self royally messed up dates before.

Mess my expenses up from December so owe work £8 really bad but I know what the mistake was and I wont happen again. They have just paid my mileage for my long trip to the Midlands so that will be £200 coming my way and petrol was no more than £65.

The seeds I sowed at the weekend have started to pop up well the Cosmos ones have. I cannot wait for Spring and with the clock going forward this weekend it is going to be so much better for golf in the evenings. It is still really cold though. Plans for the weekend is still to dig out the soil with all the weeds and take it to the dump Saturday. Would also love to sort out the front of the drive where our internet table is exposed. I am going to plant lavender in that space but they are too tiny to pot out at the moment.

Itching to buy more plants but no space really. Have a load of perennials in the cold frame one of the MSE offers from last year which hopefully will start to set flowers so I can use them in the containers this year. I also still have an ugly fence I want to cover so I think Foxgloves would be nice for that spot. Again they are tiny so need to grow a bit.

Meeting in 15min so want to get the washing out before that. I did work late Wednesday and Monday will be a long one so can take some time back.

Productive weekend as cancelled golf due to rain. Cosmos planted into separate containers and weeds and soil removed from the side of the drive. Old concrete posts down so not ideal but next door wants to concrete it all so this is only temporarily. Will cost £42 for stones but having to go and collect as not paying for delivery. Also got all the weeds out of the drive so one less job to do. Also planted a bag of potatoes.

Inside cleaned the drying cupboard of mould and got the mirror I bought in the midlands up. Really like it.

Messaged the guys who did our fence last year see what they will charge to put 5 new panels in. I do want to paint them before they go up but have the paint at least.

Should be going to the golf range but we shall see. Hope you’ve all had a nice weekend.

Last physio today pain free but need to strengthen my shoulder again. Saves £40 a week.

Got in touch with the guy who did our fence last year just waiting for a quote. He's going to paint it so will need some more paint but at least it will be done before the plants gets too big and I plant more. I will have to raid savings for that.

Diet going badly and did not go to gym last night but going tonight which will be good. Need a reset from 1st April.

Topped up my savings pots and waiting for payments to go out next week. Not a lot to move across been frivolous shall we say. Have to do better next month as need to pay for hotel in Devon unless my mum gets around to moving the money across soon.

Otherwise it's hump day seems a long week.

Quote for fence is in it is £690 which will come out of savings but that includes painting it and fitting it on Wednesday. I know I could paint it myself but I just do not have the time and there are still 3 panels to paint from last year. That is it for the garden as the other 6 panels which hopefully will last a bit longer.

Still need to fix where the water came in by the front door but that should just be caulk and paint which we will have to buy but we can do ourselves. Other than that nothing else will need spending on as we have all the paint we need for the garden wood to be painting when the weather clears hence why I am getting someone else to paint the fences.

Cleaner has put her price up by £5 a week which is fair enough as it has been 3 years but she is so so good.

Work is still a bit mental but catching up and I am enjoying it which is the main thing. Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

When will the spending actually stop.

£55 on my hair today but that's not too bad. Then got some pots and feed from Asda very cheap £14 Then £14 in in HomeBargains on bigger pots for the dahlia tubers I bought on line £14.99.

Got home did some potting on in the garden and now have loads of lovely perennials to full the pots with so won't need to buy any bedding plants and I can add them to the boarder as well.

Then ordered stones for the drive way and some more soil that was £55 and I'm paying so the joint account is skint lol. Will look good though and saves messing around clearing weeds.

We had a less than ideal time at the range yesterday. I was really looking forward to it but dg could not get her swing going so she is giving up again. I am so fed up with it to be honest we were due to play in the competition but pulled out as it was too wet to be honest. I do enjoy us playing together but when she isn't able to play as she wants she has a meltdown and then she can't play at all. I think it might be for the best she gives up for now. I'm not going to stop playing but membership is up for renewal in May.

And final thing to spend money on was ticket to an outdoor cinema event £21 each but that was so good last year and not until September. And final final thing is our gym is doing an offer £120 for the year normally it's £200 and were due to renew at the end of may so even if they do not tack it on the end we would save £160 between us which would be worth it.

I'll have to think about it.
