Morning we did have a lazy day yesterday but it was quite nice too even if we did not get any golf in. We sorted our golf cupboard out and found a couple of bits we needed plus threw out a lot of stuff we just do not use and some that can go to a raffle or something at the club.

Went to Decathlon and got one item needed the rest can be bought elsewhere but only cheap bit. Had a Greggs (to avoid eating at the club) but forgot my phone so could not get the "stamps" which really annoyed me as I later found my phone in a bag I had taken for the Spa.

Cheered on the winners of the Club Championship caught up with quite a few people, tried on our rings DGs is a bit too tight but mine is fine.

Another new lady wants to come on the golf trip and the pre trip so another two nights for us to book which is really nice obviously that she wants to come and the points (it is MSE afterall).

We did order an TGTG bag but it was cancelled in the shop so that was a wasted trip at least we got a refund and we did not really need anything. At the club we only had lime and soda so not too much money spent.

Right I best get on with some work.

I did not get out for a run yesterday but I did catch up on work.

Today is the viewing which DG will not be able to watch as the weather is now going to be fine this afternoon. A shame but cannot be helped. Ideally I want the house to be a no as we have not sold ours and it is just too soon. Buying another house would really not be MSE.

DG is stressing about a case where she made a mistake so still no nearer taking some time out. It is serious but not that serious the mistake but I really hope she gets it sorted soon. We do not need that stress to continue.

Finally a no spend day yesterday but then again I did not leave the house lol. Asda delivery today so then we will have enough food for the week hopefully. Gym later on tonight so not sure what to have for lunch might be Tuna pitta but we only have one tin of tuna which is annoying but I could add egg as well.

In other news I got an email from Santander saying "you are in" and access to their portal for the courses. The Spanish one starting in September is not on there it is still the prev years one so I am confused if I am just in on the portal or I have a space on the course. The portal seems to have a lot of courses and e-books etc. I had a quick look and this came up Live the Life You Want with the Money You Have by Vince Scully. I am sure I have heard mentioned of that one on MSE.

    Best get back to work.

Quick update the house is sold so the viewing is cancelled. The people who were interested have sold their house and can proceed. It is kind of a relief as it was far too early for us anyway and now it can stop taking up space in my head. I might stay off the property site for a while lol.

I think it's tricky as if you find the right place you might change your approach to the sale of your current property. Also you only realise over time and viewings what is most important to you. The time isn't wasted. Once you sell there's a lot of pressure to find something to go to quickly.... or there was for me...

Thanks SavingsHolmes I agree you only know what you want when you see several houses. I just need to slow down and not daydream about that perfect house. It would make so much more sense to move to rented but I just do not fancy it.

Yesterday was busy with work but as the viewing was cancelled I joined DG in the practise game and it was nice to get out and we did not get too wet. Again my brolley was amazing so definitely a great buy.

No spends yesterday on personal account but we did go to Lidl and bought soup and got the free bread. Silly rookie mistake I had other bakery item on the shop so only got .99p off. So bad I should be a pro at Lidl lol.

Not sure I will make the gym tonight just feels this week is slipping away and as we play so much golf that is ok to be honest. I need to get back on track with my 12 week plan or at the very least reflect on it. Nothing will get done over the weekend with friends here and the golf on telly but that is ok.

DG is still working long hours and fixing the mistake she made. I think it will resolve soon or I hope it will it was a simple clerical error (wrong attachments). I think we have all done that. Also we heard back from Premium Bonds Dgs mum must have cashed them in but we have not heard from them about DGs yet.

Anyway got a team meeting starting now so best show up.

  • Yes we have all made mistakes, we all human - trick is to own up asap and clean up the mistake where possible

On the Baking of protein powder into cakes - I do it so I have healthy gf DF high protein snacks when travelling and days  out - long haul flights are notorious for forgetting my GF issues or the food is too carby so having a yummy high protein hm bar is easy  to carry .. I don’t add sugar so v healthy)

plus when I am out all day at college etc I sometimes want a sweet treat but a HM one with blueberries, oats, high protein is always more nutritious, healthy than a shop bought sandwich or cake

good probably the house has sold as you are not ready but at least you can see what you can buy your money
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thanks LWAP she is getting it sorted and did own up as soon as she could. Still getting a complaint from the client which is a shame as it is the other side that made it much worse.

I used to make my own keto baked goods and snacks (flapjacks and chocolate thingies plus various savouries) problem is Dg cannot just have one so ends up eating the whole lot and I then have to make new. Even if I freeze them they are gone which is why unless I made some she really didn't like I would just get irritated. Saying that she dislikes blueberries (also raisins) as in the fruit so maybe I should try. Wonder if you can bake with slimfast it must be a kind of protein powder. I did check it only have 10% carbs which yes is high but it does stop us from eating a meal.

DG brought home 4 chocolate donuts to add to the 2 brownies we got yesterday so you can see things are not going in the right direction here. Yes home made ones would have been better but I would have to have got to them before DG.

Today is going to be busy with work as I have got tomorrow off for the club competition. I am a bit nervous about the game as I did not play that well on Tuesday but you never know. We are leaving at 8.30 so I have to leave here at 8am so early start. It is also the Solheim Cup starting tomorrow. We had planned to watch it again this year with our two good friends. One pulled out as her daughter paid for her to go on holiday which was fine but the second one pulled out yesterday with a sprained foot. She always does this waits until she gets a better offer which is what DG had predicted ages ago. We have invited a new lady over from the club so we shall see. It will be a quiet weekend otherwise and much cheaper as they one one who pulled out always wants a take away rather than me cooking and we end up paying for it.

I have got in on my sewing course it starts on the 25th so the work trip on the 26th will not be overnight but that is fine.

Anyway enough about that work awaits.

Quick check in and today is the golf game I’ve been selected to play for the club. I’m nervous but it’s should also be a nice day.

Got all my work done yesterday and picked up the flea treatment at the vets. Stopped at a little pretty town on the way back dg had some chips I had a small yellow sticker chocolate bar.

Two viewings booked and rebooked call with estate agent.

Not going to drop the price would rather list back next year and as we’re still getting viewings it must be ok.

We’re got a leaking gutter so must get that fixed. We do not have a tall ladder so will see if I can find someone to do it for us.

    Have a lovely Friday.

I did not win my match on Friday and the team lost 4-1 but it was a great day out and cost the total of £12 plus petrol but well worth it.

We had a few drinks Friday while watching the Solheim Cup which was not good as we lost a lot of matches but still fun to see the professionals do their thing.

Saturday we watched golf and got a few bits done around the house. Our new golf friend also popped over and watched some golf with us which was nice as our friends had blown us out. I did speak to friend she did sound like she was in pain so fair enough.

Sunday was pretty much the same watching golf but drumroll we got the Civil Partnership invitations done and ordered paper and envelopes to print them out. Feels so good having done them now I must dig out my to do list and get them off there. Got  my £15 worth of swapped stamps so that will come in handy for this.

Shame the ladies lost at the golf but it was still really nice to watch and well worth getting the Now TV for a month. I really would not watch that much sport just when the big golf tournaments are on.

This week is busy we have two viewings today and tomorrow and I am in calls for both of them so will have to stay home. I have moved one car so there is some space on the drive. I also fixed with Octo* feels better knowing what we will pay and I do like them a lot so did not want to switch right off them.

We also booked our flights for the trip to Portugal next year and the hotel rooms for us and our two friends. Our room ended up costing £20 as we had the credit from the previous free nights at Hotels.com. We also earned their new points and I went via Quidco so that was a bit extra too.

Posted on the local FB group for someone to fix our guttering. Also had Dgs £10 premium bond added to her electronic account and confirmation that she has £100 in winnings on their way plus £2.05 "interest" added. Shame she could not have had the £100 in the draw all that time poss 40 years still £2 is fine.

We also had a bit of a mouse drama this morning. Another one brought in this time by the bigger one. He did get to it under the tv unit and it was alive but then sadly died. I know it is nature but still a shame as they lose interest in them immediately do not even play with them. Anyway best crack on with work as per usual.

Update: tomorrows viewing is cancelled sadly but quite handy as I would have had to be in when they came.
