    Evening all,

I need some saving ideas. I need to save for this deposit and I've basically lost all track and have 0 funds. My pay increase is a 6% rise from April 1st so need to get my bum into gear!

    Hi Jade,

Perhaps post an updated SOA on here so you can get back in to the details and nitty gritty to refresh yourself?

Have a look at Limited access savings accounts - they usually provide a better rate than traditional easy access but at the cost of only being able to make a certain number of withdrawals without penalty in the year. I'd say that if you have an account which pays a reasonable rate of monthly interest as you start to put money in, and see the total grow, AND the interest being added on monthly, this will act as a real incentive.

If your current expenses are covered by your existing salary, you could also put all of the additional amount coming in via the pay rise into savings - as ever, save at the beginning of the month so you see it as a solid commitment too.

First though - are you paying interest on credit cards? If so, then you know the drill - get those dealt with first!

    Evening all,

Apologises at the lack of posts etc. I've been away with lots going on, I'd like to say I'm debt free but I'm not. I still have a little way to go yet, hopefully before the end of this year.

Landlord finally fixed the leaking roof, my car has been broke and still broke needs a new clutch and also needs to be recovered. Dreading to think how much its going to cost but haven't had it done as I use the works van to and from work.

I've kept to my meal planning but I did splash out and buy the ninja foodi from amazon in the prime deals. £169.99 bargain!
