Thanks Kajikita
I'm glad we're OPing regularly at last, its got to be a priority now. I had toyed with the idea of dropping my hours as I head towards retirement, but realistically that won't happen. The aim at the moment is to have the mortgage paid off by my SPA - we'll know more about how achievable that is when we remortgage in the summer, but with a following wind we can just about do it.
Its partly why I really need to get on top of this work thing. There will always be bad bosses and bad situations, but I need to act/block/protect myself and play the game.
I just read a post on fb that said 'people pleasing is manipulation dressed as kindness. You're not nice, you're afraid of rejection. Stop sacrificing your authenticity to control how others see you.' Tough but probably true (savingholmes I think you wrote about telling the truth/saying no).
The thinking has definitely helped, for the first time ever I can clearly see where being a people pleaser has probably come from. Its the first step to resolving it.

Thanks @savingholmes, small steps towards an ever shrinking mortgage

Wish the same could be said about my waistline, although I am eating healthily, its just a bit too much, and not quite as much exercise as I need. Working on that though.
I had planned to put the xmas lights up today, but got as far as checking the batteries. I'd like to see a bit of sparkle so will make some time this week.

Me too - they add a little heart warming twinkle don't they. Although some of our neighbours' look like they are ready to land planes - lol. Mine are just the battery type and they go on for a few hours when its dark and then off at bedtime. They did have a timer on them to just come on for 6 hours at the same time every day, but seemed to malfunction and I can't find the instructions.savingholmes said:I love xmas lights. Yes, waistline is a bit of a problem at the moment, although I've started walking a lot more again so will hopefully get back on the losing side.
I need to check supplies for Christmas week, I wished I'd ordered in double of everything last month and then I wouldn't be worried about running out just at the start of the month/new year. Makes note to self for next year.
Edit - just thought about supplies for Christmas week, and the only thing we might run out of is cat food so have just placed an order for an extra box which will see us into the new year."Think of many things, do one"
