2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!8 -
Wow looks amazing! Two Magpies is a great place for coffee and cake …

After sharing the above cake…cherry & pistachio bakewell....with Mr F, I DID go back to the hippie shop to buy that garment..it's my holiday present to myself.
I have also bought myself a birthday present - a lovely interesting bottle of gin, having been offered a taster in the Adn*ms shop. Budget-neutral as used my Personal Spends. Mr F was delighted to get the green light from the Foxgloves Manor Exchequer to choose a selection of beers. It will work out the same as his notional weekly beer allowance but in bulk so as to choose some old faves plus newbies to enjoy throughout May instead. Isn't choosing treats so much more enjoyable & meaningful when one isn't doing it all the time as in the Spendy Years. Things FEEL like a treat these days, instead of just 'buying yet another thing'.

Happy Birthday Foxgloves! I’m wondering if we were in the same town earlier… I also saw seals on the beach and there was a two magpies! (In our case, we were at the tail end of a mini break to celebrate a milestone birthday for my dad).
