Was your night at the opera the Britten? I saw it a couple of weekends ago and thought it was great.

    Fingers crossed for your quote

I remember us using a paint-on plaster at our last house, for the inside of a built-in cupboard - so out of sight. It was quite straightforward but a bit messy and I don't remember us sanding it to a perfect finish but it was a cheap fix for an unseen area. (I wondered if this might help keep the cost down for your fix?)

@PennysIntoPounds - Thanks. I've always been quite a poor sleeper with some really long periods of insomnia. Atm, that's not too bad as I always say that sleeping until any time after 5am is good for me & I do.usually achieve that. Good job I like early mornings! I do often have vivid dreams though & can wake feeling discombobulated & peculiar at times.

@thriftmonster - Yes it was! We thoroughly enjoyed it. My ancestors were fishermen off that coast so that adds to the interest for me too.

@Suffolk_lass - Thanks for the suggestion, but it wouldn't be a goer for this job as it is in a difficult place & is going to need a more significant repair than we could do ourselves.

2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

I'm reading a Kate Atkinson for book group and enjoying it. I haven't read any of her books before and trying new authors is one of the best bits of book group but we've also read some awful books too (well I thought they were awful).

Loved Behind the Scenes at the Museum by Kate Atkinson but haven’t been able to get in to some of her others.
