Resourcefulness: The budgeter's friend

That's a good point about the timings of our pledged survey donation months, @PennysIntoPounds. I will add it to factors to consider.
I do think it's a shame you still can't get onto PA. I mostly clear mid-£30s to £40 a month & sometimes between £50 & £70. Before Christmas, Mr F did several hour-long AI-themed surveys & at £15 a pop, he had 2 or 3 months where he was able to cash out over £100.
I like the variety of studies & that I'm helping people's academic research. Of course I enjoy word & writing tasks more than mathsy ones, but the cognitive skills ones can be interesting. I think you would enjoy taking part & would like to think you are not too far down the waiting list. Do they inform you when it's your turn?
Or do you just suddenly discover you've managed to sign up?
Bah humbug to still waiting though. And boo, hiss.

I think its all to do with what demographic they are looking for. My daughter ( lives in East Mids, 40's, 4 kids at home) has been on the list for ages, but my sister ( lives in south, 60+, divorced, business owner), got on in a couple of weeks.
I love doing their studies, apart from some where the instructions take longer to read than the actual study.Making the debt go down and savings go up

Isn't is funny how things turn out some times? I had kept a little slip of paper with its tiny message from a fortune cookie the other week it reads " Your financial gains in life are about to begin!"
Well today I got my invitation to start the application for my state pensionneedless to say there was to be no hanging about to sort that out
Tried to be resourceful the other day in seeking out some different buttons for a cardigan so I can get some use from as I don't like the ones on it. How hard can it be to find navy blue buttons. Of the biscuit tins I have I am not very successful at locating them. So now I have jars of basic colours and some types that will need further sorting sometime in the future. They do however take up a bit more space than the tins they came from but there is a surprising amount of space in the cupboard to accommodate them, that means stuff is moving out so I'll take that as a win!
Oh another little success was getting DH to help me refurb (I gave him the tube of polish to use) a leather handbag stored in the wardrobe with some shoe polish cream out of our shoe polish tin. It was another item from parents house as the sponge on the tube when he tried to use it perished! It is now in use
Have a good weekend peeps

I think they alert you if you ever get on but it seems unlikely they'll be short of my demographic.
Such a shame as not only could I really, really do with the money but one of the most painful bits (other than the pain) of having a chronic pain condition and not being able to have an actual job, is feeling like I never get to use my brain for even the most rudimentary problem solving skills that people use in their daily lives let alone anything more intellectual. I admit I'm not the brightest button but I did enjoy learning to be good at things and feeling useful to others and society before body got too worn down and erratic.
Ah well, give 'em some highly sarcastic and witheringly contemptuous answers from me foxgloves x9 -
I'm pretty sure I've got part balls of the self-patterning sock yarn that I won't need, but it will be 4 ply which might be too thin for Mr F's socks. You're welcome to it if you can use it.

I've always assumed they wouldn't want anyone in their late 70s so never tried, maybe I should.

Hi Bad Memory I am in my late 70's and can usually earn £30 - £40 per month on Prolific depending on surveys available. I also do One Poll which are only 15 or 20p each they are really quick ones but it's surprising how quickly you can earn £20 xx5

@foxgloves instead of donating a complete months survey money to project Surbiton would it not put less pressure on your personal spends budget to donate a twelfth (8.3%) of each month's survey earnings?Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
