What a palaver! Glad Ash is okay. Do you think his dentistry stuff maybe disagreed with him?
I'm sure you've already thought of it but in case not, the mse phone guide might be handy

Thank goodness the crasher didn't change his story. I'm surprised the insurance company let him take the blame they usually don't. Maybe that is why insurance has gone up so much. What a relief! I hope you beat my 15 month claim resolution time.

Oh good grief what a day! Surely that’s it now 🤞I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

Just popping back with 5 positive things, as I have been concentrating mainly on annoying hassle:
1. Latest energy bill from the Cephalopods today shows that we used £20-28 less energy overall this month than the previous one, breaking down into £11-49 less electricity & £8-79 less gas. This is also £19.12 less than we used during the same billing period in 2023.
2. There is a hire car sitting outside on our drive, so we have wheels & Mr F can get to work next week.
3. All the laundry I pegged out was perfectly dry when I fetched it in, so no paid-for drying required.
4. Mr F's phone problem is sorted out. He found a very well priced handset on a trusted retailer's website & ordered it on click & collect to pick up tomorrow.
5. When I have been paid for the most recent surveys done today, I will have hit my monthly minimum PA earnings target of £40.
Mr F is making lovely tuna chipotle wedge melt tonight, there are mini-eggs in the pantry & Ash ate a few treats this afternoon so hope he will fancy a little more of his meat tonight. Sleeping all day isn't that unusual for him, as he is ex-feral & quite nocturnal in his habits. I am reading a good book - genuinely creepy thriller set out in the wilds of Iceland - & have had a nice WhatsApp chat with my best friend.
Onwards,
F xx

Glad you have wheels again and have resolved the phone. I hope that Mr F and indeed your good self are not feeling too rattled by the accident itself. It’s something that always shakes me up for a while after. Hopefully you can have a gentle and peaceable weekend.5

I am glad the other driver has accepted responsibility but he really didnt have a leg to stand on as rear end shunts are almost always seen as the fault of the car that has done the hitting.

Yes, he did, @ladyholly. He apologised straight away & said it was entirely his fault. He even thanked Mr F for "being so good about it". Mind you, it happened close to quite a rough area & with Mr F being a big guy with (usually) a shaved head, he might have taken one look at him getting out of the car & expected a bit of aggro. Instead, it was all very civilised. I know if I'd been in the car I'd have asked how the flying **** he 'didn't see' a car absolutely smack in front of him, in the middle of the road, stationary in broad daylight, but there you go!!
Anyway, now having a relaxing night watching a 1980 edition of 'Top of the Pops'. That was the year I did my O-levels while Mr F was just finishing primary school.
